DURHAM – In its final tune up of the indoor regular season, Duke track and field returns to Blacksburg this weekend to take part in the Virginia Tech Challenge.
The Blue Devils feature six individuals –
Tyler Hrbek,
Brynn King,
Allison Neiders,
Emily Sloan,
Paige Sommers and
Falon Spearman – competing across the women's (4:30 p.m.) and men's (7:30 p.m.) seeded pole vault and the women's 60m hurdles (5:50 p.m.) on Friday, February 17.

WHAT TO KNOW
- The Duke women are ranked No. 17 in the USTFCCCA rankings.
- In the #EventSquad rankings, the Blue Devils have seven event groups ranked in the top 10, including the No. 3 pentathlon unit and the No. 5 400m squad.
- Duke has rewritten the record book through six meets this season, breaking 11 school records while setting 42 top-five program marks.
LAST TIME OUT
- Duke broke school records in the women's 60m, 200m and 400m and set 14 top-five program marks while competing at two meets this past weekend in the Tiger Paw Invitational and the Music City Challenge.
- Competing amid a loaded field, Halle Bieber broke her own school record in the 60m with a personal-best dash of 7.41 seconds.
- Lauren Tolbert and Megan McGinnis followed that up with spectacular performances of their own in the women's 400m, obliterating the previous school record.
- Tolbert grabbed the top spot on the all-time Duke 400m charts with a time of 52.59 seconds while McGinnis was right behind her with a dash of 52.67 seconds to put herself No. 2 in program lore.
- Bieber took down her second school record of the weekend and third overall this season – this one coming in the women's 200m.
- The senior put on another dazzling display of running, clocking 23.66 seconds to leapfrog Kethlin Campbell's 2018 mark (23.71) and insert herself into the top spot on the Duke charts.
