DURHAM – According to
Baseball America, Duke welcomes the No. 20 recruiting class in the country.
"We are really excited about this class," head coach
Chris Pollard said. "One thing that will jump out at the Duke baseball family as they get to know this class is that there is a lot of athleticism. We've continued to address the need for some left-handed bats and there are some electric left-handed hitters in this group. We also have added a great group of left-handed pitchers with some power right-handed arms. We are thrilled for all the 2024 commits and their families."
The 2024 class is comprised of four infielders, four outfielders, one catcher and six pitchers. 11 different states and Canada are represented with Pennsylvania the lone state with multiple players (three).
"We are excited to welcome a new class to the Duke baseball family," Assistant coach and recruiting coordinator
Ty Blankmeyer said. "Today is just the beginning. These guys are embarking on a journey to be the best versions of themselves day in and day out. Duke and Durham are a special place, and it is the best of both worlds. Bull City is where it is at and get ready to break down the door."
The 2024 class marks the fifth-straight
Baseball America Top-25 class for the Blue Devils under head coach
Chris Pollard. Duke saw four players get drafted during the 2023 MLB Entry Draft, including
Jay Beshears,
Alex Mooney,
Adam Boucher and
Luke Fox.
Perfect Game also ranked Duke's 2024 class as the No. 33 overall.
