DURHAM – The NR/15 Duke swimming and diving program opens the Brian Barnes era on Saturday with a dual-meet against 11/17 Virginia Tech in Christiansburg, Va. The meet is set to begin at 2 p.m. and is available on Meet Mobile.
The Blue Devils' women opened the season at No. 15 in the CSCAA Top-25 rankings, while the men were unranked.

- Duke women's program opened the 2023-24 season at No. 15 in the preseason CSCAA Top-25 standings, after finishing last year at No. 19.
- The Blue Devils and Hokies meet to open the season for the fourth consecutive year.
- Duke's women defeated the Hokies last season at the Taishoff Aquatic Center, beginning a four-meet winning streak to start the season.
- Sophomore Kaelyn Gridley broke the Duke school record in the 100- yard breaststroke last season, clocking in at 58.76.
- Senior Sarah Foley collected two school records last season, breaking the 200-yard IM and 400-yard IM marks.
- Both Gridley and Foley captured 2024 U.S. Olympic Trial times during last season's Toyota U.S. Open, earning a spot in the Olympic Trials at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind., on June 15-23, 2024.
- Gridley was named the 18-and-under U.S. Champion with a silver-medal finish in the 100-meter breaststroke at the U.S. Open, after finishing behind Ireland's Mona McSharry.
- Yannis Schattman returns for the Blue Devils on the men's side following the sixth-highest score in program history produced in the 3-meter dive.
- Schattman is joined by Seamus Harding Jr. who also returns for the men's program, after he posted a score of 388.25 in the platform dive last season.
- Senior Aleyna Ozkan broke two separate Turkish National Records during the offseason, both in the 50-meter butterfly and the 100-meter butterfly.
