DURHAM – The Duke men's soccer program has been tabbed as the No. 12 team in the nation in the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll, as the organization announced on Tuesday.

The mark is the highest preseason ranking for the Blue Devils since 2019, when they were ranked No. 10 in the same poll.
Â
The Blue Devils enter the 2022 season in the same position they ended 2021, after finishing at No. 12 in the final coaches poll back in December of 2021. Head coach
John Kerr and the Blue Devils ended last season 14-5-1 and finished as ACC Co-Coastal Division champions.

Duke received 109 votes and is one of six ACC programs tabbed to the top-25, with defending national champion Clemson at No. 1. Notre Dame (4), Pittsburgh (7), Wake Forest (15) and North Carolina (24) are also ranked, with Virginia Tech named as the first team out.
Â
Several impact players are back for Duke men's soccer in 2022, led by All-American and reigning ACC Midfielder of the Year
Peter Stroud. All-ACC and 2021 ACC Freshman of the Year
Shakur Mohammed is also back, as the Blue Devils add 10 new freshmen and a graduate transfer to the mix for the upcoming season.
