RJ Schreck were named to the 2021-22 College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) Academic All-District III First Team, the organization announced Thursday.

To be eligible for consideration, student-athletes must be a starter or key reserve, achieve sophomore standing at their current school, maintain a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.3 and be nominated by his sports information director.

Duke, which has had 11 CoSIDA Academic All-District nods throughout the last five seasons, and Georgia Tech paced the ACC, each having two selections. Virginia, Louisville and Notre Dame had one honoree.

Knight earned his first CoSIDA Academic All-District selection as he is having his best year at the plate as a Blue Devil. Knight, a native of Westport, Conn., is hitting .292/.346/.405 this season with a career-high 10 doubles, three home runs, 24 RBIs and 12 walks. He ranks among the team leaders with 14 multi-hit games this season. Knight has served as Duke's primary designated hitter throughout the season, starting 41 of 45 games played. Off the diamond, Knight is majoring in economics.

Schreck, a native of Los Angeles, Calif., earned his second CoSIDA Academic All-District honor while leading Duke at the plate in 2022. The 2021 third-team All-ACC and second-team ABCA All-Atlantic selection holds a .323 batting average, .422 on-base percentage and .548 slugging percentage. He has produced eight home runs, nine doubles, a triple and 31 RBIs. Schreck has shown his selectivity at the plate, earning 21 walks and eight hit by pitches compared to just 20 strikeouts. Off the field, Schreck recently graduated from Duke with a degree in computer science major and minors in economics and cultural anthropology. He was named to the 2021 ACC All-Academic Baseball Team.Â

By virtue of their placement on the all-district team, all three will advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America Team ballot, with first- and second-team Academic All-America® honorees being announced in June.
