- Nakeie Montgomery has 19 points in the past six games and has 33 points overall, while Andrew McAdorey has 30. Duke is averaging 15.17 goals per game to rank seventh nationally.

- North Carolina comes into the rivalry weekend ranked ninth nationally and sporting a 7-2 overall record and 0-1 mark against conference foes. The Tar Heels lost to Virginia in its ACC opener.
- Featuring an offense that averages 13.56 goals per game, Chris Gray leads the nation in goals at 3.89 game. The Tar Heels have three of the ACC's top-10 point scorers. Jacob Kelly and Nicky Solomon both have 29 points apiece.
- Defensively, Matt Wright has nine caused turnovers to lead the defensive charge. He also has 19 ground balls. Conner Maher has six and 28, respectively, as a shortstick midfielder.
- Zac Tucci has taken the majority of faceoffs for the Tar Heels. He is 97-of-169 at the dot and has picked up 47 ground balls. Andrew Tyeryar has lined up for 57 restarts and has won 34 for a .596 success rate.

- Duke and UNC each won on its home field last season with the Blue Devils edging the Tar Heels in overtime. The Blue Devils last won in Chapel Hill in 2017, rallying from a 6-1 second-quarter deficit. This year's graduate student class is 2-2 versus the Tar Heels.

The Long Island native has 14 goals and 16 assists for 30 points to rank fifth on the team in scoring. His 30 points are the most by a Duke freshman midfielder since Scott Diggs recorded 31 in 12 games.
- McAdorey's 1.33 assists per game are seventh among all freshmen nationally, while he ranks second among freshmen midfielders in points per game (2.50).
Duke Against Top-10 Foes
- When Duke and North Carolina meet, it will be the 116th time the Blue Devils have played a top-10 opponent since 2007. Duke is 72-43 in the games and Duke is 44-8 when ranked higher. This is the 45th time the Blue Devils have faced a top-10 North Carolina team since rankings started in 1973. Duke is 10-24 when ranked lower than the Tar Heels all-time and 5-3 as the lower ranked squad since 2007.
