ATLANTA – Sophomore
Sarah Foley and freshman
Margo O'Meara earned first-team All-America honors during the second day of the NCAA Championship at McAuley Aquatic Center in Atlanta.
Foley secured a spot in the 200 individual medley 'A' Final during the morning preliminaries. The Philadelphia, Pa., native followed it up with a school record time of 1:54.38 to place sixth in the event. It was Foley's second time competing in the event at NCAAs in as many years, placing 38th a year ago.
O'Meara earned her first career All-America honors in her first collegiate appearance at the NCAA Championship. She placed sixth overall in one-meter diving with a score of 322.75. Senior
Maddi Pullinger also competed in the event, scoring 277.05 to place 25th.
Foley is just the third swimmer while O'Meara is the second diver in program history to earn first-team All-America accolades, not including the named All-Americans in 2020 when the championship was canceled. The Duke women's program now holds 33 All-America honors all-time.
Four Blue Devils are back in action tomorrow at the NCAA Championship. Sophomore
Catherine Purnell is set to compete in the 400 individual medley, while Foley will take on the 200 freestyle. On the boards, O'Meara and Pullinger will take on the three-meter competition.
