The Opening Faceoff
- The Blue Devils enter the weekend with a 5-1 overall record following their 19-14 win over Delaware Tuesday. Duke is ranked seventh nationally and playing its seventh game since Feb. 4 - a span of 23 days.
- Penn is Duke's third consecutive top-20 opponent. The Blue Devils defeated No. 11 Denver, 19-10 and No. 17 Delaware, 19-14. The Quakers are 0-1 after falling to No. 3 Georgetown at home, 10-8.
- Dyson Williams continued his red-hot start to the 2022 season. He leads all scorers with 22 goals and five assists for 27 points. The junior has a hat trick in every game this season. Brennan O'Neill has 17 goals and 23 points and Sean Lulley has 12 goals and 21 points.
- Joe Robertson, Andrew McAdorey and Nakeie Montgomery round out the offense with 19, 15 and 14 points, respectively. Duke is averaging 17.17 goals per game to rank 10th nationally.
- Defensively, Kenny Brower is the anchor down low and has eight caused turnovers and 17 ground balls. Wilson Stephenson has 10 caused turnovers and 13 GBs, while Tyler Carpenter has nine and 27, respectively.
- In goal, Mike Adler has been outstanding, averaging 9.67 saves per game and sporting a .554 save percentage. He has made 16 saves twice already this season.

Scouting Penn
- Penn, playing its first season since March of 2022, enters Saturday's contest at 0-1 after a 10-8 setback to No. 3 Georgetown. The Quakers were picked to finish second in the Ivy League behind Yale.
- Dylan Gergar is the top returning attackman for the Quakers and led Penn with four of the eight goals in the setback to Georgetown. Sam Handley returns for Penn after missing the final four games of the 2020 season with an injury. As a freshman, Handley set school freshman records for goals (35), assists (26) and points (61), which also rank fourth in school history overall.
- Will Bowen, James Donaldson and Gibson Smith IV handle the duties down low. Bowen registered four caused turnovers in the season opener and picked up two ground balls.
- In goal, Emmett Carroll made 12 saves and allowed 10 goals in the loss to Georgetown. At the faceoff dot, Jamie Zusi won 5-of-14 restarts, while Chris Arceri was 3-of-8.

Series History
- Duke and Penn meet for the 12th time and for the first time since 2020. The Quakers have a narrow 6-5 edge in the series and won the most recent contest, 14-11, in 2020.
- Neither team has registered consecutive victories since the programs renewed the rivalry in 2010. Duke's most recent win was a 17-7 triumph in 2019.
- In the rivalry, Penn has held Duke to fewer than 10 goals in four of the past eight meetings.
Last Time Out
- Penn jumped out to a 6-2 lead before Duke rallied to tie the game 6-6 early in the third quarter and jumped ahead 11-10 on a CJ Carpenter goal to start the fourth period. The Quakers, however, finished the game with four unanswered for the 14-11 victory.
- Current Blue Devil Sean Lulley had six goals on the day for Penn and the Quakers forced 25 Duke turnovers. The Blue Devils were just 23-of-30 on clears for the game.
Lulley Joins Century Club
- With seven points against Delaware, graduate student Sean Lulley pushed his career points total over 100 to 103. The native of Melville, N.Y., played three seasons at Penn, starting 31 of his 37 games played.
- Lulley notched 39 goals and 43 assists for 82 points in his three seasons at Penn. He has 12 goals and nine assist for Duke in his six games.
Williams Stays Red Hot
- Junior Dyson Williams has fared well in his return to attack this season. He leads all Blue Devils with 27 points, two more than he had in 15 games last season. As a rookie on attack, Williams had 30 points in eight games for a 3.75 points per game average.
- The native of Oshawa, Ontario has at least three goals in every game this season and has four four times. He owns 13 career hat tricks.
Man-Up Magic and Magician
- The Blue Devils have been impressive overall on man-up offense, going 10-of-16 for .625 through six games. Dyson Williams and Cameron Mulé have three and Brennan O'Neill has two. Last season, Duke was 24-of-51 for .471 to rank sixth nationally. O'Neill had nine of the 24 goals, the second most in the country in 2021.
- Mulé is Duke's man-up magician off the bench. All three of his goals this season have come on extra man. He also had the overtime winner against Notre Dame last season in man-up, his first touch in the game. For his career, Mulé has six man-up goals.
