PANAMA CITY BEACH, Fla. – The Duke men's golf team returns to tournament action on Sunday, when the Watersound Invitational begins at the Shark's Tooth Golf Club in Panama City Beach, Fla.
The three-day, 54-hole event begins Sunday at 9 a.m. and continues through Tuesday on the par-72, 7,202-yard course in the Florida panhandle. The same course will host the ACC Championship in late April.
The 14-team field is ACC heavy with teams getting a preview of the ACC Championship track. Duke, Boston College, Clemson, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Notre Dame, NC State, North Carolina, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest will join Arkansas and Alabama.
The Blue Devils are paired with Boston College and Clemson for Sunday's first round, with a scheduled 10:40 a.m. tee time off the first tee. Duke's lineup includes sophomores
Ian Siebers and
Jimmy Zheng, freshmen
Luke Sample and
Kelly Chinn and senior
Quinn Riley.
Siebers has led Duke since the season began in September, owning a 69.87 stroke average and posting five consecutive top-10 finishes. The sophomore from Bellevue, Wash., is coming off a ninth-place finish at the Arizona Intercollegiate in January where he carded an 8-under 208.
