DURHAM – With the New Year here, head coach
Kerstin Kimel and her staff announced the 2022 Duke women's lacrosse schedule.
The 17-game regular season spans from February 11 to April 22. The slate features six contests against opponents who were selected to the 2021 NCAA Championship field, including three of the four semifinalists in National Champion Boston College, North Carolina and Syracuse.
The Blue Devils are set for six matchups against squads in the Nike/US Lacrosse Division I Women's Preseason Top 20, including the top three spots. The Eagles earned the top preseason ranking, followed by No. 2 North Carolina, No. 3 Syracuse, No. 7 Notre Dame, No. 11 Virginia and No. 20 Penn.
Koskinen Stadium will host nine games, including four ACC tilts against Pittsburgh (March 10), Louisville (March 17), Virginia (April 2) and Boston College (April 16). Duke will open up ACC road action March 6 at Syracuse before traveling to Notre Dame (March 27) and Virginia Tech (April 7). The Blue Devils will close out the regular season at North Carolina on April 22.
Duke will kick off the season with Gardner-Webb on Friday, Feb. 11 before hitting the road for three non-conference. The Blue Devils will visit Elon (Feb. 13), William & Mary (Feb. 18) and High Point (Feb. 20) before returning to Durham to host Wofford (Feb. 24) and East Carolina (Feb. 28). Duke will face off against Penn, Davidson and Liberty amid conference play in March and April.
Duke will then turn its attention to the postseason, beginning with the ACC Tournament April 27-May 7. The first round, quarterfinal and semifinal games will be hosted by Notre Dame before the championship at the highest seed.
Kimel's squad will begin the 2022 season ranked No. 8 in the nation, as announced by the Nike/US Lacrosse Division I Women's Preseason Top 20. Kimel returns 10 starters, including six graduate returners who will use their final year of eligibility granted by the NCAA due to COVID-19. Graduate student

Maddie Jenner also returns in the draw circle. Last year, she tallied 187 draw controls to lead the ACC with 9.84/game and ranked third in the nation.
The full television schedule will be released at a later date by the ACC and ESPN. Every Duke home game will be broadcast on the ESPN family of networks – ACC Network or ACC Network Extra.
