DURHAM – Junior right-handed pitcher
Marcus Johnson was named to the 2022
Perfect Game Preseason All-America Second Team, the publication announced on Wednesday.

Johnson shined out of the bullpen for the Blue Devils in 2021. The programs closer, he made 30 appearances, the fifth-most in a single season in program history, while finishing with a 3.05 ERA, five wins and seven saves in 56.0 innings pitched. The Fontana, Calif., native held opposing batters to a .196 batting average, ranking fourth in the ACC. Johnson matched teammate
Luke Fox with a .305 ERA on the season, sitting third in the ACC amongst pitchers who pitched one inning per game.

RJ Schreck who was selected to the third team by
Collegiate Baseball.

Duke opens the season Feb. 18-20 as it hosts Virginia Military Institute for a three-game series at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
