DURHAM – Junior
Sarah Foley recorded a school record in the 100 breaststroke but the Duke swimming and diving team dropped a dual-meet to North Carolina at Taishoff Aquatics Pavilion Friday.
Â
The Duke women dropped a tight race 154-146, as North Carolina took the top two spots in the last event. North Carolina won the men's side of the meet, 168-132.
Â
"I was super excited about some of our performances tonight," Duke head coachÂ
Dan Colella said. "It is always a traditional, great meet. I congratulate Mark Gangloff and his staff on their wins, but I was proud of how our team performed tonight, on the women's side going down to the last relay and the men having some strong wins in there.
Â
"We put a close on our dual-meet season and we always want more but overall there were some really good things to take away from the evening," Colella continued. "We are in a great position to do some really fast swimming in two weeks when we head to Atlanta for the ACC Championships. We are looking forward to the championship season and some really fast swimming."
Foley continued to impress in the pool. After setting the program record in the 400 individual medley two weeks ago, Foley etched her name as the program record holder in the 100 breaststroke against North Carolina.
