DURHAM – The 24th-ranked Duke men's soccer team (3-0-0) is back in action on Monday, Sept. 6, as the Blue Devils host Seattle (2-1-0) at 7 p.m. at Koskinen Stadium.
The Blue Devils are looking to match the 2019 season, when the team opened with four straight shutout victories. The 2019 unit outscored opponents 9-0 over the first four games.
Last Time Out
- Duke outlasted Michigan in the first road game of the regular season, defeating the Wolverines 1-0 on Thursday night.
- While not reaching 20 shots like the first two games, the Blue Devils registered 12 shots and six on goal, generating strong scoring chances throughout the match while holding the Wolverines to seven shots and only two on goal.
- Freshman Ruben Mesalles scored the only goal of the night, streaking to the net and burying a header off a cross from senior Conor Kelly. Both Mesalles and Kelly recorded their third point of the season, with Mesalles scoring his first collegiate goal.
- Mesalles also led the way with five shots, while Kelly, freshman Jai Bean and freshman Felix Barajas each recorded shots on goal.
- Senior Eliot Hamill recorded his second shutout in two games this year, making two saves in the win.

- Sophomore Luke Thomas was named Duke's Student-Athlete of the Week on Aug. 30. Thomas had a huge debut weekend, with one goal and two assists and is tied with Barajas for the team lead with four points.
- The Blue Devils lead the ACC and rank second in the nation in goal differential, outscoring opponents 8-0 over the first three games. The Blue Devils only trail Radford (+9).
- Five Blue Devils are averaging a point a game or better to start the season. Thomas and freshman Felix Barajas lead the way with four points through three games, while Kelly, sophomore Miguel Ramirez and Mesalles each have three.
