DURHAM – The Duke men's golf team returns to action this week when the Blue Devils compete in the Old Town Club Collegiate, scheduled for Monday and Tuesday, in Winston-Salem, N.C.
The 54-hole event at the Old Town Club is scheduled for 36 holes on Monday with a 7:30 a.m. shotgun start, with Tuesday's final round also off at 7:30 a.m. The course is set to play at 6,966 yards at par 70. Live scoring is available from Golf Stat.
The Blue Devils have had two weeks off since hosting the
Rod Myers Invitational at the Duke University Golf Club on Sept. 11-12. Duke finished in third place in the RMI, led by a pair of sophomores –
Jimmy Zheng and
Ian Siebers – who each collected top 10 finishes.
Siebers and Zheng lead the Duke lineup at the Old Town Club Collegiate, along with freshmen
Kelly Chinn and
Luke Sample, and senior
Quinn Riley. Sophomore
Cameron Martinez-Piedra will play individually.
Duke is in the strong, 14-team field along with College of Charleston, Davidson, East Carolina, Loyola (Md.), Kansas State, Kentucky, UNC Greensboro, Penn State, Rutgers, SMU, Southern Miss, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.
Following the OTC, the Blue Devils have two more events to cap the fall portion of their schedule. The team will compete at the Hamptons Collegiate (Oct. 4-5) in East Hampton, N.Y. and the Golf Club of Georgia Collegiate (Oct. 22-24) in Alpharetta, Ga.
