DURHAM – Following a 3-0 weekend, the Duke volleyball team (9-2) will open its ACC slate this weekend with Boston College (11-4) and Syracuse (11-2).
The Blue Devils will square off against the Eagles on Friday at 6:30 p.m., before a 1 p.m., Sunday contest against the Orange. Both matches will be broadcast on ACCNX from Cameron Indoor Stadium.

A CLOSER LOOK AT THE SERIES
BOSTON COLLEGE: Friday marks the 25th meeting in program history between the Blue Devils and Eagles as Duke owns a strong 22-2 advantage in the series. In their last meeting in March of 2021, the Blue Devils secured a 3-0 sweep in Cameron Indoor Stadium.
SYRACUSE: Duke holds a narrow 6-5 lead in the series against Syracuse, but have lost four of the last five meetings. In March of 2021, the Orange won the five-set marathon (3-2) in New York.
SCOUTING THE OPPONENTS
BOSTON COLLEGE: Boston College and Syracuse faced off Wednesday for a mid-week contest in Chestnut Hill and the Eagles secured a 3-1 victory over the Orange. Prior to Wednesday's victory, the Eagles (11-4) had lost three in a row. Offensively, Boston College is led by Clare Naughton (204 kills, .256 hitting percentage) as setters Grace Penn and Sophia Lambros have combined for over 500 assists. Libero Anna Murphy owns 213 digs as the Eagles rank fifth in the ACC in total digs.
SYRACUSE: The Orange (11-2) broke a four-match win streak Wednesday with their setback to Boston College. The Orange are led by Marina Markova (215 kills) and Polina Shemanova (205 kills) as setter Karakasi has dished an ACC-leading 469 assists. Syracuse ranks in the top five in seven different categories, highlighted by an impressive .314 hitting percentage to rank second in the country.
COLE RANKS AMONG THE BEST

Mackenzie Cole is ranked 29th on the NCAA active career leaders list with 1,407 career digs to date. She needs 162 to move into the top 20. She is also currently tabbed eighth on the Duke all-time charts. Cole has been one of Duke's top defensive specialists during her time in Durham and has 19 games with 20+ digs. Her career-high of 29 came against North Carolina on November 17, 2018. She also owns 102 service aces, becoming the 18th player in Duke history to reach the milestone.

UP NEXT
Duke will hit the road for its first pair of ACC road contests. The Blue Devils will take on Pitt Friday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m., in Pittsburgh before a 3 p.m., contest against Virginia on Sunday. Sunday's match in Charlottesville will be broadcast on ACCN.
