DURHAM – Following an opening weekend sweep, No. 24 Duke men's soccer (2-0-0) hits the road for the first time this season as the Blue Devils travel to Ann Arbor, Mich., for a 7 p.m. kickoff against Michigan (1-0-1) at the U-M Soccer Stadium on Thursday night.

The Blue Devils are looking to start the season 3-0 for the first time since 2019, when the team opened with four straight shutout victories.

Last Time Out
- Duke jumped on Merrimack early on Sunday afternoon, opening the scoring in the sixth minute when Nick Pariano converted a penalty kick on the way to Duke's 4-0 victory.
- After totaling 20 shots against Liberty on Friday night, the Blue Devils bested themselves on Sunday, recording 21 shots, along with 11 shots on goal and four goals, while limiting the Warriors to four shots and two on goal.
- Freshman Felix Barajas was the man of the match, scoring two of Duke's four goals and factoring in on a Merrimack own goal to nearly secure a hat-trick. The Los Angeles, Calif., native was a force off the bench, lacing a goal into the top right corner from outside the box and finishing a header for his second.
- Freshman Jai Bean added his first point as a Blue Devil, setting up Barajas's first goal. The Hamilton, Bermuda native became the third Blue Devil freshman to earn their first point, joining Barajas and Ruben Mesalles.
- Sophomore goalkeeper JT Harms recorded the first career solo shutout of his career, making two saves to shut down the Warriors offense.
Tale of the Tape
- The Wolverines are set to face their first non-Michigan based opponent of the year, after facing Detroit Mercy and Oakland.
- Michigan enters the contest after playing back-to-back double overtime games to start the season. The Wolverines and Detroit Mercy played to a 1-1 draw, while Marc Ybarra delivered a last-second goal for the maize and blue to defeat Oakland, 2-1.
- Head Coach Chaka Daley is in his 10th season at the helm of the program. Daley has led the Wolverines to four NCAA Tournaments in his tenure.

- The Wolverines become Duke's final Big Ten opponent faced, as the Blue Devils have faced each remaining eight universities that field men's soccer.
What to Watch For
- Head Coach John Kerr is closing in on 100 wins at Koskinen Stadium, recording his 93rd home victory on Sunday afternoon against Merrimack. He will have his next chance on Monday against Seattle.
- Duke has had at least one All-ACC honoree in every season since 1976, including every year of Kerr's tenure.
- Sophomore Luke Thomas was named Duke's Student-Athlete of the Week on Aug. 30. Thomas had a huge debut weekend, with one goal and two assists and is tied with Barajas for the team lead with four points.
- The Blue Devils are returning all four representatives of last season's ACC-leading group on the All-ACC Freshman Team. Thorleifur Ulfarsson, Antino Lopez, Lewis McGarvey and Peter Stroud are looking to take another step forward in their sophomore campaigns.
- Stroud is also the program's lone representative on the 2021 ACC Preseason Watch List. The Chester, N.J., native was named to the All-ACC Third Team last season and has gotten off to a quick start.
- Stroud saw one of his first shots ring off the right goalpost in the 36th minute against the Liberty on Friday. He has gotten off to an aggressive start, matching his shots on goal output from last season with five in just the first two games.
- Pariano recorded his 10th career point on Sunday, scoring a penalty kick to give the Blue Devils a 1-0 lead. Pariano joined senior Ian Murphy as the only ones on the team with at least 10 career points.
