DURHAM – The Atlantic Coast Conference released the 2021 All-ACC Academic Baseball Team as seven Blue Devils received the honor, announced by the league office Thursday.

Among the 55 student-athletes selected, Duke's seven led the conference. Notre Dame saw six student-athletes named to the team, followed by Clemson, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Miami and NC State with five.
Â
Seniors
Joey Loperfido and
Matt Dockman earned the third honor of their respective careers, while classmate
Chris Crabtree and junior
Ethan Murray were named to the team for a second time. Graduate student
Peter Matt, junior
RJ Schreck and freshman
Luke Fox earned All-ACC Academic honors for the first time in their careers.
Â
The Blue Devils recorded an impressive 2021 season, finishing 33-22 overall after winning their first ACC Championship since 1961 and making their third consecutive NCAA postseason appearance for the first time in program history.
Â
Duke boasted two All-ACC selections as Loperfido and Schreck earned second and third team honors, respectively, following the regular season. Schreck was also named to the ABCA Atlantic All-Region Second Team, the first all-region honor of his career.
Â
Dockman, Loperfido and Schreck were tabbed to the CoSIDA Academic All-District III First Team in July for their successes on the field and in the classroom. Dockman earned his third All-District honor as Loperfido and Schreck made their debut on the team.
Â
Minimum requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career for undergraduate students. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
Â
The ACC Honor Roll, which recognizes all conference student-athletes with a 3.0 GPA for the current academic year, will be released later in July.
