DURHAM – The 2021 MLB Draft will take place July 11-13, 2021, and draft-eligible Blue Devils will be awaiting the life-long dream of hearing their names called during the event.

The draft will be 20 rounds and held at the Bellco Theatre in Denver.

Schedule:
The first round of the MLB draft will take place on Sunday, July 11 at 7:07 p.m.

Day 1:Â July 11, 7:07 p.m.
Day 2:Â July 12, 1 p.m.
Day 3:Â July 13, 12 p.m.

Beginning in 2017, the MLB added picks to the draft designed to level the competitive playing field. Round A of the competitive balance picks (selections 31-36) will be on Sunday while Round B (65-72) will take place on Monday.

Broadcast Schedule:
The first day will be broadcast live on MLB Network and ESPN for the 10th consecutive year. The second and third days of the draft can be streamed for free on MLB.com.

Duke in the Draft:
Heading into the 2021 MLB Draft, Duke boasts 105 selections overall in the history of the event. Former Blue Devil pitcher and currently the eighth-ranked prospect in the Arizona Diamondbacks organization,
Bryce Jarvis became the program's highest draft pick in history after being selected 18th in 2020. Duke has had a pick in each draft since 2014, including a top five round pick in six of the previous seven drafts.

Blue Devils in the Rankings:
Baseball America listed four Blue Devils in its Top 500 MLB Draft Prospects as
Ethan Murray checked in at 176,
Jack Carey at 239,
Joey Loperfido at 245 and
Michael Rothenberg at 354. Three incoming freshmen were also on the list, highlighted by
Alex Mooney at 66.
Jonathan Santucci and
Ryan Higgins were 440 and 460, respectively.

D1Baseball's Top 150 College Draft Prospects, ranking 115.
