Honoring the Seniors
Friday night will be the final regular season home game for six Blue Devils who have shown the utmost dedication over the course of their careers at Duke. They've excelled on the field and the classroom and have exemplified what it means to be a Duke student-athlete. On the field, the group has combined for 35 wins and two NCAA Tournament appearances and off the field they have collected 18 ACC Academic Honor Roll awards.

A graduate student,
Jack Doran has been a steady force for the Blue Devils over the course of his career. He started 12 of 13 games played this season and owns three goals. Despite missing the 2019 campaign to injury, Doran has played in 50 career games and has four goals and three assists. He will graduate with his Master of Management Studies from the Fuqua School of Business in May.
A native of Feldkirch, Austria,
Matthias Frick started every game he has played, captaining Duke's backline over the past four years. An aerial threat in the offensive third as well, he has six goals and four assists for his career and will graduate in May with a bachelor's degree in political science.
Nicolas Macri played three seasons with the Blue Devils, working his way from playing just one game as a rookie to becoming a starter his senior campaign. Macri has two goals to his name and will graduate with his second Duke degree in May as he earns his Master of Management Studies from Duke's Fuqua School of Business.
A utility man for the Blue Devils,
Stephen O'Connell has made great strides during his time in Durham. He has started 10 of Duke's 15 games as a senior and when not starting has been an impact player off the bench. He is second on the team with three goals and has played in 32 career games. A political science major, he will graduate in May.
Hailing from Claremont, California,
Michael Reis has been a crucial member of the Goalkeeper Union the past four seasons. His work ethic on and off the field is second to none as he consistently makes everyone around him better. Reis will graduate in May with a bachelor's degree in computer science.
A key contributor on offense over the past four seasons,
Daniel Wright is Duke's most experienced player with 72 games played. A starter in 43 career games, Wright has 11 goals and eight assists for 30 points for his career. He will graduate in May with a bachelor's degree in political science.

Series History
- Duke and North Carolina are meeting for the 96th time in the rivalry and the third time in this 2020-21 season. The Tar Heels hold a 49-36-10 record against the Blue Devils, including winning both games in the fall by identical 2-0 scores.
- The Blue Devils last defeated North Carolina in 2019, a 3-2 victory in Chapel Hill. Scotty Taylor provided the winning score for Duke.Â
Last Time We Met
- Fourth-ranked North Carolina scored a pair of second-half goals to earn a 2-0 win over the Blue Devils to close out the fall regular season slate.
- North Carolina nabbed the 1-0 lead in the 56th minute on a header from Giovanni Montesdeoca off a Lucas Rosario service. The Tar Heels iced the victory with an 83rd-minute goal from Taff Wadda. Smir had two saves for North Carolina.

- North Carolina comes to Durham looking to rebound from a 1-0 loss to Virginia Tech last week. The Tar Heels are ranked 18th this week and sport a 6-4-3 overall record and a 3-2-1 mark this spring.Â
- Giovanni Montesdeoca paces the offense with four goals and two assists, while Santiago Herrera has three goals. North Carolina has scored just 15 goals all season with seven of them coming this spring. In all four of their setbacks, the Tar Heels have failed to score.

After spending the past three seasons behind Will Pulisic, Hamill earned his first start against Charlotte to open spring action. It was the first time the Blue Devils had a new face in net in 67 games. In seven starts and eight games overall, Hamill has 29 saves, a 0.744 save percentage and a 1.19 goals against average. His 29 saves rank 54th nationally and eighth in the ACC.
Early Bird Gets the Worm
- The Blue Devils will look to strike first Friday against UNC. All four of Duke's wins this season came when it scored the opening goal of the game, while it is 0-6 when giving up the first goal.
- Duke scored two first-half goals at Virginia Tech and Virginia, marking the only time this season the Blue Devils took a lead into halftime.
