- Duke (10-10, 5-7 ACC) hosts Liberty (16-6, 5-1 ASUN) on Tuesday at the DBAP. First pitch is scheduled for 4 p.m.
- Junior right-handed pitcher Cooper Stinson leads the ACC in hits per game (4.76) and opponent batting average (.158) this season.
- Duke is the only team in the ACC with three players ranked in the top-15 in the conference in batting average.
- The Blue Devils and Flames meet for the 22nd time in the two programs' histories. Liberty leads the all-time series, 11-10. Duke is seeking its first win over the Flames since May 8, 2018, when the Blue Devils topped Liberty, 5-2, at the DBAP.

SERIES HISTORY
Duke and Liberty meet for the 22nd time in the two programs' histories, dating back to 1989. Duke currently trails in the all-time series, 10-11, but holds a 6-4 record in Durham. The Flames enter the contest having won the last two games in the series as Liberty won both midweek matchups in May of 2019. Duke's last win over Liberty came in May of 2018, as the Blue Devils topped the Flames, 5-2, at the DBAP. Duke head coach

SCOUTING THE FLAMES
Liberty has won 14 of its last 15 games for an impressive overall record of 16-6. The Flames have not shied away from ACC opponents, holding a 3-0 record with two wins over North Carolina, then No. 18 and No. 14, and a win over Virginia. Most recently, Liberty took the series on the road at Bellarmine for its second conference series of the season. Liberty has been solid defensively, ranking in the top-10 nationally in fielding percentage (.983) and top-20 in WHIP (1.19) and shutouts (3). Offensively, Aaron Anderson leads the team with a .341 batting average. He also leads the team in hits (29) and doubles (10). Logan Mathieu has been the Flames long-ball specialist, hitting five out of the park this season to lead the ASUN Conference.

ROTHENBERG MAKING HIS MARK IN THE RECORD BOOKS
Senior
Michael Rothenberg is currently tied for 22nd in program history in home runs (17) and 13th in program history in hit-by-pitch (28). He is also nearing the top 25 lists of school history in walks and RBIs as well. The Boca Raton native has 75 career walks, nearing Luis Duarte's 86 from 1992-95 that rank 25th. His 101 career RBIs are approaching JD Alleva (1998-01) and Jeff Piscorik (1992-95) who tie for 25th in school history with 122.

SCHRECK LEADING THE WAY
Junior
RJ Schreck leads the Blue Devils offensively as he's batting .380 with 27 hits, including four doubles and a team-leading five home runs. In addition, Schreck totals 19 RBIs, including eight from the Boston College series. Schreck ranks fourth in the conference in batting average and ranks in the top-10 in the league in on-base percentage, slugging percentage and hits per game. Coming into the season, Schreck had a career batting average of .172 (15-for-87). The Los Angeles, Calif., native's five solo home runs this season are the first of his career. Schreck is second on the team with eight multi-hit games and ties to lead the team with five multi-RBIs games.

Duke is the only team in the ACC that has three players ranked in the top-15 in batting average among the conference. Junior

Peter Matt recorded his 150th career hit at Notre Dame on March 19. His 161 career hits current rank in the top 140 career leaders in the category in Division I. Prior to Duke, Matt played four seasons at Penn.

CAREY, JOHNSON COMBINE FOR GEM AT NOTRE DAME

Jack Carey and sophomore
Marcus Johnson combined for a pitching gem in a shutout win at No. 17 Notre Dame on March 21. Carey made his fifth start of the season, allowing just one hit and one walk in 6.0 innings of work. Johnson worked a perfect three-inning save, retiring all nine batters faced. Duke gave up just one hit for the first time of the season and the first time since a win against Florida State in the final series of 2020.

DEFENSE NOT MAKING IT EASY
Duke's pitching staff sits fourth in the conference in hits allowed per game, giving up just 7.37 hits per nine. Florida State (6.90) leads the category in the conference. Junior
Cooper Stinson leads the team and the ACC, allowing just 4.76 hits per game throughout the season. Stinson also leads the league in opponent batting average as the junior is allowing batters just a .158 clip.
