Ali Watson became a two-time All-American in the event as Duke closed out the final day of the 2021 NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championship on Saturday at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.Â

Throughout the four-day meet, Duke saw seven student-athletes compete in 11 events. Three Blue Devils, juniorÂ
Maddi Pullinger (one-meter diving), sophomoreÂ
Emma Shuppert (100 backstroke) and Watson (platform diving), earned honorable mention All-America honors.

Watson highlighted Duke's performances on the final day of the championship. The Fort Lauderdale, Fla., native placed 13th in the morning preliminaries to reach the consolation final in the event and to be named an honorable mention All-American. Watson also earned the status last season. She placed 16th overall in the event.

FreshmanÂ
Sarah Foley finished her three-event run at the NCAA Championship with the 200 breaststroke. Foley clocked a 2:11.77 in the event to place 40th overall.

Cabell Whitlow and freshmanÂ
Catherine Purnell competed in the 200 butterfly. Purnell led the way, placing 30th with a time of 1:57.30. Whitlow, competing in the event for a second time after also swimming the 200 butterfly at the 2019 NCAA Championship, swam a 1:59.17 in the morning to place 42nd overall.

Next up for Duke is the NCAA Men's Swimming & Diving Championship in Greensboro. Two Blue Devils will compete at the event as juniorÂ
Matthew Whelan is set to compete in the 50 freestyle, 100 butterfly and 200 butterfly while freshmanÂ
Seamus Harding Jr. will compete in platform diving. The event will run Wednesday-Saturday.
