DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke women's swimming and diving team takes on the 2021 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships March 17-20 at the Greensboro Aquatic Center in Greensboro, N.C.

The meet will run Wednesday-Saturday with preliminaries in the morning followed by finals in the evening for swimming. Diving will take place in the afternoons between the morning and evening swimming sessions.

REPRESENTING DUKE
Seven Blue Devils will compete at the 2021 Women's NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships. Freshmen
Sarah Foley and
Catherine Purnell will make their debut at the NCAA meet. Foley leads the team, competing in three events (200 individual medley, 200 breaststroke and 100 breaststroke) while Purnell will compete in the 200 butterfly and 400 individual medley. Junior
Shayna Hollander will also compete in two events, the 100 backstroke and 50 freestyle.

Emma Shuppert (100 backstroke) and junior
Cabell Whitlow (200 butterfly) will also represent Duke. Two divers are set to compete as well as sophomore
Ali Watson and junior
Maddi Pullinger will compete in the platform and one-meter, respectively.

THE SCHEDULE
The four-day meet will run from Wednesday – Saturday at the Greensboro Aquatic Center. Preliminaries begin each morning at 10 a.m. while the finals will start at 6 p.m. The full schedule of when Duke will compete is broken down below:

UNFINISHED BUSINESS
Three Blue Devils are eager to get back to the biggest stage after qualifying for last years NCAA Championships before seeing the meet get canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Sophomores Watson and Shuppert qualified in the same events as a year ago, platform diving and the 100 backstroke, respectively. Hollander was set to compete in relays last season and returns to compete in two events in 2021, the 100 backstroke and 50 freestyle.

WELCOME BACK
Hollander, Whitlow and Pullinger lead the Duke squad in experience after competing in the NCAA Championships in 2019. Their experience will be able to help Duke's youth in managing the big stage and nerves that come with it.

The Duke women's swimming and diving team were slotted at No. 24 in the February edition of the College Swimming and Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) Division I Poll.Â
