Michael Rothenberg was named to the Buster Posey National Collegiate Catcher of the Year Award Watch List, the Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission announced Tuesday. Â

A senior out of Boca Raton, Fla., Rothenberg earned recognition on the watch list for the second consecutive season. This season, Rothenberg is batting .244 with nine RBIs, six doubles, a home run and 11 walks. His six doubles lead the Atlantic Coast Conference. He is currently on a 36-game on-base streak.

In addition to offensive production, Rothenberg has started 11 of Duke's 12 games behind the plate and has caught four stealing so far this season.

The Buster Posey Award honors the top Division I catcher in collegiate baseball. Semifinalists will be announced on May 20 with finalists announced on June 7. The award presentation will be held in Wichita, Kan., with the date to be determined.

Rothenberg and the Blue Devils are back in action on Friday as they host NC State for a three-game series at the Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
