Men's soccer sophomore Thorleifur Ulfarsson has been selected Duke's PNC Achievers Student-Athlete of the Week after scoring five goals in two games last week and recording his second collegiate hat trick in his 12th career game.

The Blue Devils took down Howard with a 4-0 shutout on Tuesday night. Ulfarsson scored in the 26th, 55th, and 73rd minutes, for his first hat trick since scoring three at Virginia on March 28th, 2021. Â

The Kopavogur, Iceland native also led the offense in Friday night's matchup, where No. 4 Duke earned a 3-1 victory over No. 14 Louisville. Ulfarsson scored two goals in the win during the 33rd and 87th minutes. He has now tallied 14 points in five games this season.

Ulfarsson has helped lead the Blue Devils to a No. 4 national ranking, an 8-1-0 record and a 4-0-0 record in the ACC. He has now scored in three straight games for the first time in his collegiate career and has the largest two-game scoring output of his career.

The Blue Devils will wrap up the three-game homestand with a game against Elon on Tuesday, Oct. 5 at 7 p.m.
