The Blue Devils are coming off a thrilling 1-0 overtime victory over No. 15 Notre Dame on Thursday, Oct. 21. Freshman Michelle Cooper netted the golden goal and has found the back of the net in each of Duke's last three matches.
Cooper paces the team with eight goals and 21 points, while her 1.91 points per game lead the ACC.
Graduate student Tess Boade is tied for second in the ACC in goals (four) and points (11) in conference-only matches.
Senior Mackenzie Pluck has an assist in five of her last six contests. Her seven helpers this season are tied for fourth in the ACC.
Junior goalkeeper Ruthie Jones has 33 saves through 14 matches. Her 0.52 goals against average currently leads the ACC, while her .825 save percentage ranks second in the conference.
Duke is 44-5-7 at Koskinen since the start of the 2017 campaign, including an 8-1-0 home mark this season.
The Blue Devils are 5-1-0 in five matches against opponents ranked in the United Soccer Coaches national poll this season.
Defensively, Duke's seven goals allowed this season are the fewest in the ACC. The Blue Devils' 0.52 goals against average ranks fifth nationally and leads the conference.
Duke is ranked No. 6 in this week's United Soccer Coaches poll, marking the 25th consecutive poll that the Blue Devils have held a spot in the top 10.
DUKE VS. FLORIDA STATE
An ACC rivalry that dates back to 1995 is renewed on Sunday as Duke and Florida State gear up for their 34th all-time meeting.
The Blue Devils trail the all-time series, 10-16-7, with the Seminoles taking four of the last five matchups.
The two sides faced one another in the NCAA Quarterfinals on May 9, 2021, and battled through 110 minutes of scoreless play. Florida State edged Duke, 5-3, in penalty kicks to advance to its 11th College Cup since 2003.
The Seminoles defeated Duke twice in the fall of 2020, first on a last-minute goal on Oct. 29 in Tallahassee. In the ACC semifinals on Nov. 13, FSU rolled to a 4-0 victory.
The Blue Devils' last win in the series was a 2-0 victory in Durham on Oct. 8, 2017.
Duke is 6-3-0 all-time at home against Florida State.
SCOUTING THE SEMINOLES
Florida State has held on to the No. 1 ranking in each United Soccer Coaches poll this season and brings a 14-0-1 record into Sunday's match.
The Seminoles have not lost in regulation since Nov. 29, 2019 -- a 4-0 defeat to UCLA in the NCAA Quarterfinals. Since that match, Florida State is 27-1-3, with its only losing decision coming in penalty kicks against Santa Clara in last season's national championship.
Sophomore Beatta Olsson is tied for the ACC lead with 11 goals this season while her 23 points are tied for fourth in the conference. The Enkoping, Sweden native has three goals in her last two games.
The Seminoles boast a balanced attack as six players have reached the 10-point mark. Redshirt senior Clara Robbins has five goals and five assists for 15 points, while reigning All-American Yujie Zhao has three goals and seven helpers for 13 points.
On the back line, Florida State is tied for second in the ACC for the fewest goals allowed (9). Sophomore Cristina Roque (eight starts) and freshman Mia Justus (seven) have split time this season in goal, collecting eight total shutouts.
Florida State's 51 goals this season lead the ACC and rank fourth nationally.
LAST TIME OUT: DUKE 1, NOTRE DAME 0 (OT)
Freshman Michelle Cooper scored 50 seconds into overtime to lift No. 6 Duke to a 1-0 win over No. 15 Notre Dame Thursday, Oct. 21 at Koskinen Stadium.
Cooper was played a long through pass from graduate student Tess Boade, and the Clarkston, Mich., native sprinted behind the Irish defense and dribbled the ball around a charging goalkeeper before burying it with a left-footed strike.
It marked Duke's first overtime win since a double-OT victory over Arizona State in the second round of the NCAA Tournament on May 1, 2021.
Senior Delaney Graham made her 75th career appearance for the Blue Devils, playing the entire 91 minutes.
Junior goalkeeper Ruthie Jones earned her 15th career complete-game shutout

STEPPING IT UP ON DEFENSIVE END
The Blue Devils' seven goals allowed are the fewest by an ACC team this season.
Duke's 0.84 goals against average leads the conference and ranks fifth nationally.
The Blue Devils have recorded eight shutouts, which ranks third in the ACC despite playing fewer matches than each of the top-nine teams.
Duke has allowed more than one goal on just one occasion.
Graduate student Caitlin Cosme, sophomore Katie Groff and sophomore Emily Royson anchor the Duke back line and have each logged over 1,000 minutes this season.
HOME SWEET HOME
Koskinen Stadium has provided one of the best home-field advantages in the nation over the last five seasons, as Duke boasts a 44-5-7 record at the venue since the start of the 2017 campaign.
The Blue Devils are 8-1-0 in home matches this season, with three of those wins coming over ranked opponents.
Duke has outscored its opponents 27-5 at home.
The 5-0 win over East Carolina on Sept. 9 marked head coach Robbie Church's 150th career victory at Koskinen Stadium.
Duke has been fueled by quick starts at home this year, scoring 11 times in the first half while allowing just one first-half goal by an opponent. The Blue Devils' opening goal in five of their last seven home games has been scored in the first 30 minutes.
STORMING OUT OF HALFTIME
The Blue Devils have outscored their opponents 18-4 in the second half of games this season, with eight of those goals coming in the first 10 minutes after the break.
The Blue Devils have outshot opponents 125-46 in the second half.
Duke is 10-1-0 when scoring first this season and 5-2-1 when the match is tied at halftime.
Tess Boade's game-winner at No. 2 North Carolina on Sept. 17 was scored in the 55th minute.
In the season opener against Arkansas on Aug. 19, Duke scored each of its two penalty kick goals in the first six minutes out of halftime to build a 3-1 lead.
