Courtwright on United Soccer Coaches Midfielders to Watch List

DURHAM, N.C. – Duke women's soccer redshirt junior midfielder Sam Courtwright has been selected to the United Soccer Coaches Midfielders to Watch List, which was announced Friday.
A 2023 United Soccer Coaches All-American and 2025 First Team All-Midwest Region honoree, Courtwright has established herself as one of the top midfielders in collegiate soccer over the last three years. She collected nine goals, 15 assists and 33 points over 43 matches at Texas Tech before transferring to Durham in the spring.
Courtwright, who is from Dallas, Texas, is coming off a season in which she started all 20 matches, posted four goals and seven assists following her comeback after missing the entire 2024 season due to injury. She earned First Team All-Big 12 honors and was the No. 71 player in TopDrawerSoccer's postseason top 100 rankings.
As a rookie at Texas Tech, Courtwright started all 23 matches, recorded five goals, eight assists and 18 points. She was named United Soccer Coaches Third Team All-American, TopDrawerSoccer Freshman All-American, Big 12 Freshman of the Year and First Team All-Big 12.
Duke will conclude exhibition action Saturday, Aug. 8, at 1:30 p.m., as the Blue Devils welcome Carolina Ascent FC. Former Duke standout Lily Nabet will make her return to Freeman Field at Koskinen Stadium. Admission is free and open to the public.
