DURHAM – As the Blue Devils prepare for the 2022 baseball season, head coachÂ
Chris Pollard and the Duke baseball program are excited to introduce the incoming freshman class.
Over the fall semester, GoDuke.com will release individual introductions of its 12-member freshman class.
Â
A right-handed pitcher from Charlotte, N.C.,
David Boisvert is the third member of the freshman class to be introduced this fall.
Â
"I have been really impressed with David's athleticism and projection," Pollard said. "He has a fastball that's touched 92 mph and the makings of a really good 'true' curveball, along with a split change. Having spent time in the On Decks O's organization, David has been surrounded and coached by really good baseball minds. While he might have been a little 'under the radar' coming out of high school, he is a guy that has big time projection and a very high ceiling."
Â
Boisvert was a four-year letterwinner at Cannon School in Concord, N.C., under head coach Rod Rachal. His time at Cannon was cut short, missing most of his junior and senior seasons due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Â
Breaking into the rotation as a sophomore, Boisvert threw 19 innings in six appearances on the mound, boasting a 2.61 ERA with a 3-0 record.
Off the field, Boisvert was a member of the Student Council, the Peer Support Team and the athletic leadership Council. He was also an AP Scholar as a junior and senior.
Â
Born David Connor Boisvert, he is the son of Dave and Laura Boisvert. He has one sister, Renee. His father was a member of the basketball team at Georgia Tech, 1988-91.

Why'd you choose Duke: The mix of athletics and academics Duke has to offer is second to none. Coach Pollard and the rest of the coaching staff have done a fantastic job making Duke one of the most reputable programs in the country. Coach Pollard emphasizes development in his players and staff and that was a major attraction during my recruiting process. Duke will also give me a fantastic opportunity off the baseball field to mature and develop as a person. Â
Who is your biggest role model: My biggest role model is my mom. Seeing all the adversity she has battled has motivated me more than she knows. I want to pay her back for all the sacrifices she has made just so I could live the life I want.
If you weren't playing baseball, what sport would you play? Golf
