DURHAM – Former Duke wrestler
Mitch Finesilver is set to compete at the 2021 World Wrestling Championships in Oslo, Norway. The annual championships will run from Oct. 2-10.

Finesilver joins current assistant coach
Ethan Ramos as Duke representatives competing at the World Wrestling Championships. Finesilver will compete in the 74kg weight class, representing Israel in a crowded field of 33 wrestlers from 31 different countries.

A four-time NCAA qualifier in his time at Duke, Finesilver was one of the most decorated wrestlers in program history, becoming a 2019 All-American. Finesilver was the 2018-19 ACC Wrestling Scholar Athlete of the Year and a four-time All-ACC honoree, who has carried his success into the professional and international circuit.

Most recently, Finesilver won a bronze medal at the 2021 European Wrestling Championships in Warsaw, Poland. Finesilver took down Moldova's Valentin Borzin to win a sound 4-0 decision to earn bronze.

Qualification rounds will begin on Oct. 2 at 4:30 a.m. ET (10:30 a.m. in Oslo). The championships will be shown on FloWrestling.
