DURHAM, N.C. - Following an abbreviated 2020 season, the Duke women's lacrosse team is excited to announce the 2021 schedule.
The 15-game regular season spans from February 12 to April 23 and includes six ACC teams ranked in the top-20 of the Nike/US Lacrosse Division I Preseason Top 20 rankings.
The Blue Devils are slated to host eight contests in Durham: five conference and three non-conference matchups. Duke welcomes North Carolina, Notre Dame, Syracuse, Virginia Tech and William & Mary and will travel to Boston College, Davidson, East Carolina, Louisville, North Carolina and Virginia.
Duke will begin the 2021 slate on the road Friday, Feb. 12 to take on the Davidson Wildcats at 5 p.m., before returning to Durham for the home opener against William & Mary Thursday, Feb. 18 at 5 p.m. Duke will turn its attention to Virginia Tech Sunday, Feb. 21 for a 1 p.m., tilt in Durham before making the short trip down Tobacco Road to Chapel Hill to face North Carolina Feb. 26. The Blue Devils close out the month of February with a trip to Greenville, N.C., to take on East Carolina Sunday, Feb. 28.
Duke kicks off March by hosting Syracuse Saturday, March 6 before a non-conference midweek against High Point on Wednesday, March 10. Duke hits the road for back-to-back contests against Virginia in Charlottesville (March 19 and March 21) and then returns home to welcome Notre Dame to Koskinen Stadium Sunday, March 28.
Kimel's squad will be on the road for the first two contests in April, first at Boston College (April 3) and then at Louisville (April 10) the following Saturday. Duke closes out the 2021 regular season with three home contests, welcoming Liberty on April 13, Virginia Tech on April 17 and North Carolina on April 23 for Senior Day.
Duke will then turn its attention to the postseason, beginning with the ACC Tournament April 28 - May 3 in Chapel Hill, N.C.

The team's top three leading goal scorers all return in seniors

Catherine Cordrey combined for 60 of the Blue Devils' 159 goals during the abbreviated 2020 slate.
Attacker
Maddie Jenner also returns in 2021 in the draw circle as she tallied 96 draw controls and averaged 10.67 per game, the second-most in the country.
Fan Information
Due to the impact of COVID-19, Duke University will begin its spring sport program seasons without spectators at home events. Contests played on Duke's campus will include essential game management personnel and broadcast media. Traditional parking lots used by fans on game day will be closed.
Blue Devil fans can support Duke women's lacrosse with cutouts of yourself, family members or favorite pets. Cutouts will be displayed for the entirety of the season regardless of the future determination for allowing spectators into the venue.
