The Duke Blue Devils entered the middle game of their weekend series at Virginia in desperate need of a victory to keep their hopes of a postseason berth alive. However, things started to look bleak for the Blue Devils as they came to bat in the top of the ninth frame trailing, 7-3.

Slowly, the tide began to turn as Ryan Day lobbed a one-out double and the flood gates opened as Duke scored six runs in the inning, capped by a two-run single from Justin Bellinger, as the Blue Devils rallied to beat the Cavaliers, 9-7, and even the series.
