DUKE FALLS TO WAKE FOREST
Duke traveled to Winston Salem for its second game of the spring campaign, taking on Wake Forest. Blue Devil senior Nico Macri opened the scoring for Duke and backup goalkeeper Eliot Hamil made it 2-0 before the break.
The Demon Deacons came back in the second half, tying it up 2-2 with just over 15 minutes to go and then tacked on two more goals in the final five minutes to win 4-2.
Duke and Wake Forest are the only two programs to have played twice this spring with the Demon Deacons going 1-0-1 and Duke 0-2. The Blue Devils head to spring break before resuming play March 28 against North Carolina at 2 p.m.
DUKE IN MLS OPENERS
Four former Blue Devils suited up for their respective Major League Soccer clubs on opening weekend. Sean Davis and Brian White both earned the starts for New York Red Bulls in the 3-2 win against FC Cincinnati. Davis donned the Captain's armband for the first time and went the full 90, while White started and was subbed off in the 71st minute.
For NYCFC, Sebastien Ibeagha came onto the field to bolster the defense after NYCFC went down a man with a red card. Ibeagha played 49 minutes before coming off due to an injury. The club lost to Crew SC by a 1-0 score despite playing with 10 men for 80 minutes.
In Minnesota, Jeremy Ebobisse and the Portland Timbers fell to Minnesota United FC 3-1. Ebobisse, fresh off signing a contract extension, came off the bench in the 83rd minute.
TOP DRAWER SOCCER TABS DUKE CLASS NO. 1
Top Drawer Soccer has put the Blue Devils' incoming class as the most talented in the country. The group features six top 100 recruits according to Top Drawer Soccer, including three in the top 50.
A host of former Blue Devils will open their 2020 USL seasons this weekend. One of the games will be a matchup between former teammates Issa Rayyan and Brandon Williamson. Rayyan is in his second season with the Philadelphia Union II, while Williamson recently signed on with Loudoun United – D.C. United's USL affiliate. Kickoff for that game is 7:30 p.m., at Subaru Park.
Recent graduate Daniele Proch will make his professional debut Saturday vs. Louisville City FC at WakeMed Soccer Park. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m.
On the West Coast, Aedan Stanley and Portland Timbers 2 will hit the road to Phoenix Rising FC Saturday. This is the inaugural season for Timbers 2 and Stanley is one of five players signed this week ahead of the opener, the club announced Thursday.
 FJØRTOFT AND MCKENNA ONE YEAR INTO BroPod PODCAST
Former Blue Deivls Markus Fjørtoft and Ciaran McKenna are making their way in the media world with their own soccer podcast – BroPod. Started over a year ago with the first episode dropping December of 19, the Duke duo talks about discuss all topics related to football with compelling guests.
Their first guest was former Duke striker Jeremy Ebobisse and the most recent was about MLS and the 25th anniversary. They hosted MLS UK show host Henry Hewitt and current New York Red Bull striker Brian White.
