SEAN DAVIS GARNERS MASSIVE HONOR
The New York Red Bulls selected former Blue Devil star Sean Davis as the team's captain as announced by head coach Chris Armas Thursday. Davis came up through the Red Bulls system as part of the U-23 team that captured the NPSL Championship in 2014. He signed a homegrown contract with the Red Bulls upon graduating from Duke in 2014, making his first MLS appearance in 2015. He's since gone on to log over 8,000 minutes in 124 games played in MLS action.
At Duke, Davis was the quintessential leader on and off the field. He was the 2014 ACC Midfielder of the Year and was a two-time All-ACC pick. An active member in various on campus groups as part of Athlete Ally and other organizations, he was on the ACC Academic Honor Roll three times.

In his third season with the Timbers in 2019, Ebobisse tied for first on the team with 11 goals and was the only player on the roster to appear in all 34 league games. Most notably, Ebobisse was one of three players in MLS age 22 or younger with 11 or more goals scored in league play last year. The Bethesda, Md., native has tallied 17 goals and nine assists in 72 appearances (45 starts) across all competitions.
The Duke quartet of Issa Rayyan, Daniele Proch, Aedan Stanley and Brandon Williamson is gearing up for the start of the 2020 United Soccer League season set to begin next weekend and run through the middle of October.
