DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke swimming and diving team begins the postseason this week at the ACC Women's Swimming and Diving Championships and ACC Diving Championships hosted by the Greensboro Aquatics Center in Greensboro, N.C. The meet will run Wednesday-Saturday with preliminaries being in the morning at 10 a.m., followed by finals in the evening at 6 p.m.

LAST YEAR'S ACC CHAMPIONSHIPS
Last season brought Duke its best finish in the women's ACC Championships under head coach
Dan Colella when the Blue Devils finished fifth with 764 points. The men placed seventh with 624 points. Duke had three All-ACC members at the ACC Championships last season.
Evan Moretti and
Maddi Pullinger earned the honor on the boards in the three- and one-meter events, respectively.
Kylie Jordan received recognition in the 100 butterfly.

LEE WINS UNLIKELY TRIPLE
Sophomore
Easop Lee received ACC Women's Swimmer of the Week honors after her three-event sweep in Duke's most recent meet versus North Carolina on Feb. 1.

At the meet, Lee won the day's three longest individual events: the 400-individual medley, 500 freestyle and 1,000 freestyle. In the 1000 free, Lee finished in 9:46.71, her career best and a time that moved her to second in Blue Devils' history. She also clocked 4:46.15 in the 500 free and 4:14.17 in the 400 IM, improving her cut times in the 400 IM.

DUKE IN THE ACC STANDINGS
Duke has three female athletes that have placed top-five ACC times in nine different individual events this season.

Alyssa Marsh leads Duke, holding four top-five times this season. She currently sits second in the ACC in the 50 free and 100 fly with times of 21.90 and 51.05, respectively. Her 48.11 100 free places her fourth in the ACC this season while her time of 52.64 in the 100 back sits at fifth. In addition, Marsh sits atop of the ACC this season in the 50 fly split (23.46).

Emma Shuppert have also notched top-five ACC times this season. Lee sits fourth in the 1,000 freestyle at 9:46.71. Shuppert holds the No. 4 spot in the 50 back split with a time of 24.42.

Duke also holds the fourth-best time in the ACC this season in the women's 200 medley relay. Shuppert,
Halle Morris, Marsh and
Sarah Snyder swam a school-record 1:36.52 to improve their "B" cut time and reach the mark.

LAST TIME OUT
The Duke swimming and diving program split meets with Tobacco Road rival North Carolina Saturday afternoon in Taishoff Aquatics Pavilion. The Duke women notched their fourth win in four years over the Tar Heels as they edged out No. 16 North Carolina 152.50-147.50. The men fell to North Carolina 132-168, their first loss to the Tar Heels since 2016.

Sarah Snyder swam a school and pool record time of 1:36.52. During the relay, Marsh swam a 22.00-second 50 fly split, the fastest split in the country this year, to seal the win for the Blue Devils.

The men followed suit, taking the 200 medley relay in a season-best time (1:26.79). The quartet of junior

Charlie Gingrich and senior
Miles Williams moved themselves to ninth on the Blue Devil list.

After contributing in the opening sweeps, Duke seniors Marsh and Williams dominated their events. The duo combined to sweep both the 50 and 100 freestyle events. In the women's 50 free, Marsh's 22.02 placed first and set a pool record, followed by Snyder in third (22.62). Williams, a native of Hong Kong, took the men's with a time of 20.03.

The dynamic senior duo continued their form for the Blue Devils by sweeping the 100 freestyle. Marsh, of Davidson, N.C., beat the side in 48.35 while Williams touched first in 44.13. In addition to her two freestyle wins, Marsh also took the 100 fly in 52.06.
Sophomore
Easop Lee added a trio of wins for the Blue Devils in the 500 and 1,000 freestyle and the 400 individual medley. In the 500 free, the Baltimore, Md., swam a 4:46.15 to place first in the event. Her 9:46.71 in the 1,000 was a season best and moved her to second in Duke's all-time charts. Her 4:14.17 in the 400 individual medley was her fastest time this season to take the event, followed closely behind by junior
Connie Dean in third place (4:14.73).
In senior day fashion,
Nathaniel Hernandez shined on the boards for Duke. The senior posted season-best score in the one-meter (385.05) and a career best in the three-meter (420.23) during his final meet in Taishoff. Hernandez, out of Southlake, Texas, improved both his second-place scores in the Duke all-time charts.Â
Sophomore
Maddi Pullinger also added a win for the Blue Devils in the one-meter diving. Pullinger's 315.83 was a season high.

After kicking off the postseason with the Women's ACC Swimming and Diving Championships, it is the men's turn to take on the postseason with the Men's ACC Swimming and Diving Championships Feb. 26-29 at the Greensboro Aquatics Center in Greensboro, N.C.
