DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke swimming and diving program looks to close out its fall 2020 season with the Janis Hape Dowd Invitational at Koury Natatorium in Chapel Hill.
The four-team meet will run Thursday through Saturday with preliminaries beginning in the mornings at 10 a.m. and finals taking place at 6 p.m. each evening.

THE COMPETITION
Duke is one of four ACC teams to compete in the Janis Hape Dowd Invitational, joining Virginia Tech, Florida State and hosts North Carolina.

All four programs competing in the Invitational are ranked on the women's side – No. 16 Duke, No. 17 Virginia Tech, No. 23 North Carolina and No. 25 Florida State.

For the men, Virginia Tech leads the way ranked No. 11 while Florida State follows at No. 16. North Carolina also appeared in the November poll, ranked 23
rd. Duke received votes as well.

LAST TIME OUT
Duke was last in action nearly a month ago when the Blue Devils opened the 2020-21 season against Virginia Tech. In that meet, Duke fell on the men's side, 171.5-120.5, while the women recorded their first tie in program history, 150-150.

Overall, Duke was led by freshman
Sarah Foley with three individual wins. She swam top-5 times in program history in each of the three events. She won the 100 breaststroke (1:01.38, fourth all-time at Duke), the 200 breaststroke (2:11.95, second all-time) and the 400 individual medley (4:13.87, fifth all-time).

Foley led the Blue Devils to sweep the top-three spots of the 100 and 200 breaststroke as she was followed by sophomore
Kayle Park and freshmanÂ
Catherine Belyakov in second and third, respectively, in both events. Park clocked a 1:02.25 in the 100 and 2:13.80 in the 200 while Belyakov touched in 1:03.30 in the 100 and 2:18.39 in the 200.

SeniorÂ
Quinn Scannell also sported a win for the Blue Devils as she touched first in the 200 freestyle in 1:50.26. Snyder took second in both of the freestyle sprints, the 50 and 100, with times of 23.39 and 51.53, respectively.

The men were led by juniorÂ
Cole Reznick and sophomoreÂ
Brendan Driscoll. Reznick sported wins in the 100 breaststroke (55.115) and the 400 individual medley (3:59.52). In addition, the Pleasanton, Calif., native touched in 2:02.46 in the 200 breaststroke to place third.

After missing the spring portion last season due to injury, Driscoll placed first and second in the two distance freestyle events. He touched first in the 1,000 freestyle in 9:20.89 before placing second in the 500 freestyle with a time of 4:34.95.

UP IN THE POLLS
The Duke women's team moved up to No. 16 after beginning the season ranked 21
st in the preseason CSCAA TYR Poll.

FOLEY, PULLINGER EARN ACC WEEKLY AWARDS
Foley and juniorÂ
Maddi Pullinger swept the women's ACC swimming and diving weekly awards following the Blue Devils season-opening meet against Virginia Tech.

Foley earned ACC Women's Swimmer of the Week after tallying three wins in three individual events Saturday against Virginia Tech. The Philadelphia, Pa., native won the 100 breaststroke (1:01.38), 200 breast (2:11.95) and 400 individual medley (4:13.87). All three times were NCAA 'B' Standard times and ranked in the top five of program history. Her 200 breast time sits second in school history.

Pullinger was named ACC Women's Diver of the Week after winning both diving events against the Hokies. A native of Sydney, Australia, Pullinger score topped the field of nine divers in both the one- and three-meter events, scoring 301.58 and 324.53, respectively.
