Defensively, Duke is allowing 10 shots per game, 3.6 on goal and 1.86 goals per game.
- Twenty different Blue Devils have seen action this season, including nine of the 11 freshmen.
Â
Series History
- The Duke - Pittsburgh series is a young one with just nine meetings between the two teams. The Blue Devils and Panthers first squared off in 1955 and then started again when Pittsburgh joined the ACC in 2013.
- Duke is 6-1-2 overall against the Panthers and 5-1-2 as ACC foes. Pittsburgh beat Duke for the first time last season in a dramatic 4-3 comeback victory.
Â
Last Time Out
- Fourth-ranked North Carolina scored a pair of second-half goals to earn a 2-0 win over the Blue Devils last Friday. It was just the second time this season Duke failed to find the back of the net in a game.
- The Tar Heels outshot Duke, 12-8, for the game, while Duke had the 9-3 advantage in corner kicks. Will Pulisic and Alec Smir both finished with two saves apiece.
Â
Last Time We Met
- Pittsburgh scored four unanswered goals, including three in the second half, to rally to a 4-3 victory over Duke last season. The Blue Devils led 3-0 before the Panthers made the unlikely comeback.
- Duke raced out to a 3-0 lead in the opening 37 minutes with goals from Max Moser, Daniel Wright and Suniel Veerakone. Pittsburgh got one back with 4:18 remaining in the first half and rode that momentum to three more goals and a win in the second 45. Will Pulisic had three saves for the Blue Devils, while Arie Ammann had six stops for Pitt.
Â
Remembering 2018 Thriller
- Duke goalkeeper Will Pulisic stopped two penalty kicks and converted his own with ease to lead the eighth-ranked Blue Devils to the ACC Championship semifinals with a 4-3 shootout victory over Pittsburgh in 2018.
- The game ended in a scoreless draw after 110 minutes, during which Pittsburgh hit the crossbar three times and Duke nearly scored in the final seconds of both regulation and the second overtime. Overall for the game, the two teams combined for 31 shots, 10 of which came on frame. The Blue Devils played the final 48:54 of the game with 10 players due to a red card in the second half.

- Ihara was the Florida Gatorade Player of the Year, while Shigaki arrived at Montverde Academy for the 2019-20 academic year in hopes of playing collegiate soccer in the United States.
