Vukajlovic Posts School Record in Hammer Throw

HIGH POINT, N.C. – The Duke track & field program concluded the first meet of the 2019 outdoor season Saturday afternoon at the VertKlasse Meet in High Point, N.C., with 23 top-10 finishes, one school record and four performances that rank on Duke's all-time list on the last day of competition.

Stefani Vukajlovic got things started this morning with a school-record toss in the women's hammer throw competition. Vukajlovic rewrote her own record and posted a 62.73m (205-9.00) mark on the last attempt to take third.

Lauren Hoffman etched her name on Duke's all-time list in two events this afternoon. Hoffman posted a second-place finish in the 400m hurdles in 58.94, the fourth-fastest time in Duke outdoor history and captured third in the 100m hurdles in 13.98, which ties for fourth on the program records list.

Also competing in the 400m hurdles was India Lowe who notched first place in 58.60, the third-best time in program history. Additionally, Erin Marsh competed alongside Hoffman in the 100m hurdles and placed second in a time of 13.82, a time that ranks No. 2 Duke all-time.

In addition to the times on Duke's all-time list, several Blue Devils posted personal-bests in their respective events.

High jump specialist Cassie Martin placed second this afternoon with a height of 1.71m for a personal best while Rivers Ridout notched second in 2.09m. Both high jumpers placed second in their respective competitions. Bryant Lewis took fifth on the men's side as he tied his personal best clearance with 1.96m. Domonique Panton competed in the 100m and raced to a fourth-place finish in 11.78 for a personal best.

The Blue Devils will be back in action next weekend as they split time between the Texas Relays and the Raleigh Relays.
