AUSTIN, Texas – The 92nd Clyde Littlefield Texas Relays opened Wednesday in Austin, Texas, as three Duke Blue Devils competed in the heptathlon.

Kate Kutzer, Erin Marsh and Isabel Wakefield competed in the first four events of the heptathlon at the Mike A. Myers Stadium on the campus of the University of Texas.

With three events remaining, Marsh is in fourth (3,380 pts.) followed by Wakefield in 15th (3,042 pts.) and Kutzer in 23rd (2,786 pts.).

Marsh got off to a nice start with three personal-best performances. In the 100m hurdles, Marsh notched first place in 13.51, the second-best time in Duke history before her sixth-place showing in high jump with a 1.72m clearance, which ties for fifth on the program's all-time list. In shot put, Marsh placed 24th with a mark of 9.82m before another first-place personal-best finish in 24.49 in the 200m.

Wakefield sits in 15th overall with two personal-best performances in the 100m hurdles and high jump. In the 100m hurdles, the rookie placed ninth in 14.30 before a 1.60m height in the high jump. Wakefield placed 22nd in shot put with a toss of 10.39m before a 13th-place finish in the 200m in a time of 25.80m.

Kutzer concluded the first day of the heptathlon with two personal bests. The sophomore kicked off the day with a personal-best 14.97 in the 100m hurdles before a 1.45m clearance in the high jump competition. Kutzer notched a personal-best mark in the shot put (11.06m) before clocking in at 26.26 in the 200m to end the day.

The multi-event athletes will conclude the heptathlon Thursday and field events and the prelims of the 400m hurdles will also take place.
