DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke baseball team closed out its second exhibition of the fall with a pair of eight-inning scrimmages against Coastal Carolina Saturday afternoon in Fayetteville at Segra Stadium—home of the Fayetteville Woodpeckers.
The Blue Devils battled to a 7-1 victory across the first eight innings before capturing a 6-1 win in the second installment of the exhibition.
"I thought we competed well in all three phases today," said head coach
Chris Pollard. "Our pitching staff had 25 strikeouts with only three walks across 16 innings. I thought our pitchers did a great job pounding the zone and our defense was solid.
Michael Rothenberg was really good behind the plate defensively."
The dup senior
