DURHAM, N.C.—For the second consecutive season Duke senior forward
Daniele Proch has been selected to the All-ACC Men's Soccer First Team as voted by the league's 12 head coaches. Proch is the first Blue Devil to earn first-team recognition in consecutive years since Sebastien Ibeagha in 2012 and 2013.
A 2018 All-American and Hermann Trophy semifinalist, Proch was the Blue Devils' undisputed leader on the field in 2019. He led the team with 12 goals and five assists for 29 points, making up 41 percent of the team's 29 goals and 33 percent of Duke's 87 points on the year.
Proch, consistently drawing a crowd of defenders, ranks fourth in the league in goals per game and fifth in points per game. He scored multiple goals in three games this season and had a hand in 17 of the 29 scores overall.
He tallied four goals in a pair of wins over Harvard and Princeton to earn ACC Offensive Player of the Week recognition in September and was listed 21st on Top Drawer Soccer's midseason upperclassmen top 100 list.
Proch came to Duke after one season at Catawba College and quickly became the Blue Devils' catalyst on offense. He totaled five goals and 12 points in his first season and followed that with 11 and 12 in the next two campaigns, respectively. The Riva Del Garda, Italy native currently ranks fourth among active players with 90 points and sixth with 36 goals.
Equally as successful in the classroom, Proch garnered Google Cloud Academic All-America honors last year and most recently was named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District First Team for the second straight year.
The Blue Devils finished the year with a 7-9-2 overall record and 2-5-1 mark in league action.
