Duke Men Gear Up for Pirate Invite Friday

DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke men's cross country team will head to Greenville, N.C., to compete in the 8k Pirate Invite on Lake Kristi Friday afternoon starting at 4:40 p.m.

10 Blue Devils will run the trail Friday, including seniors Cole Hoff and Ethan Ready, junior Josh Romine, sophomores Devin Connell, Joe Cullen, Matt Politis and Chris Theodore and freshmen Rory Cavan, Ryan Thompson and Connor Wells.

18 schools will compete, including Barton, Coastal Carolina, College of Charleston, Duke, East Carolina, Elizabeth City State, Elon, Hampton, Methodist, NC State, North Carolina Wesleyan, Norfolk State, Richmond, Saint Augustine, UNC Greensboro, UNCW, VCU and Western Carolina.

Last season, the Blue Devils took first place out of 12 teams with 31 total points.

Duke heads into Greenville with a 28-1 overall record and ranked fifth in the USTFCCCA Southeast Regional rankings. The Blue Devils also earned receiving votes in the National USTFCCCA Rankings this week.
