DURHAM, NC – The Duke swimming and diving teams travel to Florida State to being the year with an ACC dual meet on Saturday. The meet between the Blue Devils and the Seminoles will begin at 10 a.m. at the Morcom Aquatic Center.
KNOW THE OPPONENT
Florida State comes into its home-opener having already had its season-opener the week before at ACC foe Notre Dame. The Florida State men and women both fell to the Fighting Irish by scores of 129-171 and 116.5-183.5, respectively.
Both of the Seminole teams sit in the CSCAA rankings as the men are ranked 17th and the women are 24th.
Saturday's meet will be Parent's Weekend for the Seminoles.
DEJA VU
For the second consecutive season, the Duke women's team enters the season ranked 22nd in the College Swimming Coaches Association of America's (CSCAA) preseason top 25 poll.
Duke achieves this ranking after finishing 23rd (47), the second highest finish in program history, at the 2019 NCAA Championships. Duke ended the season at No. 12 in the final TYR/CSCAA Division I Poll for the highest national ranking in program history.
RETURNERS LEADING THE WAY
11 of Duke's 16 NCAA Qualifiers return to the Bull City for the 2019-20 season. Seniors

Miles Williams return on the men's side. Hernandez was named First Team All-America in the one-meter event in Austin a year ago.

Melissa Pish and
Cabell Ann Whitlow for the women. The women saw an abundance of All-America honors as Hollander, Marsh, Morris and Pish were a part of three All-America relay performances while Jordan (100 butterfly) and Marsh (50 freestyle, 100 butterfly) earned individual All-America honors.
HELLO, OLD FRIEND
Duke and Florida State are not unfamiliar foes, having faced each other every year at the ACC Championships. On the dual meet front, Florida State holds the advantage in the men's series as Duke holds a 1-5 record with its one win being a 164-129 victory at home in 2015.
The women's series is a bit tighter, seeing the Blue Devils ride a two-meet win streak against the Seminoles to make the series 2-3 in favor of the latter. Duke topped Florida State 192.160.5 in their most recent meeting, at home in 2017.
UP NEXT
Following Saturday's dual meet at Florida State, the Blue Devils return to the Bull City for their home-opener at Taishoff Aquatics Pavilion, Saturday, Oct. 26. Duke hosts SEC powerhouse Georgia for the pair's second all-time meeting. The meet will begin at 11 a.m. and will mark the program's annual Breast Cancer Awareness Meet.
