- Duke takes a 4-2-0 ACC record into Tuesday night's game against North Carolina. The Blue Devils last won five conference games in 2006, going 5-2-1 to finish the regular season in a tie for first place. Duke has won five ACC tilts twice, but never won more than five in program history.
ABOUT THE BLUE DEVILS
- Duke looks to pick up win No. 10 overall and No. 5 in ACC play Tuesday night against Tobacco Road rival No. 5 North Carolina. The No. 14 Blue Devils are 9-4-1 overall and 4-2-0 in ACC play.
- Daniele Proch leads all scorers with 11 goals, while Ian Murphy and defender Matthias Frick have three apiece. Kristófer Garðarsson has been outstanding of late and has a team-best five assists. Issa Rayyan, Top Drawer's No. 7-ranked rookie, owns three assists and regularly gives opposing defenses fits on the flank. Brandon Williamson is the engine to the midfield, while Max Moser is a threat from the right midfield and has two goals and two assists. Duke has 10 different players with at least one goal.
- Rookie Aedan Stanley has anchored the backline in the center back position. A captain, Ciaran McKenna and sophomore Matthias Frick man the wings on defense, and also provide threats on set pieces offensively. Will Pulisic is the leader from the back in goal. Fresh off of a strong rookie campaign, Pulisic was tabbed one of the top 11 goalkeepers by Top Drawer Soccer in preseason. He has three shutouts this season and 10 in his career and earned All-ACC third team recognition as a freshman. Currently he sports a 1.35 goals against average and a .661 save percentage.
- Off the bench, Duke is the deepest it's been in recent memory with a wealth of talent ready to step in. Garðarsson and Suniel Veerakone can provide an offensive spark off the bench, while Nicolas Macri and Colby Agu can step in and also are dangerous offensive weapons.
LAST TIME OUT
- The 14th-ranked Blue Devils scored three first-half goals to cruise to the 3-1 victory over Pittsburgh last Friday. Duke got off to a fast start with a pair of textbook goals in the first 15 minutes. Rookie Issa Rayyan netted the first tally with an outstanding individual effort in the 10th minute, while junior Max Moser had the second five minutes later. Nicolas Macri capped the scoring with 51 seconds remaining in the opening session – his first career goal.
LAST TIME WE MET
- Set pieces proved to be the difference tonight as eighth-ranked North Carolina edged No. 23 Duke 2-1 in a thriller an at Macpherson Stadium in Greensboro last season. Daniele Proch scored the Blue Devil goal off an assist from Kevon Black. Both of North Carolina's goals came on corner kicks.
ABOUT NORTH CAROLINA

ACC TOURNAMENT PROJECTIONS
- A win over the Tar Heels Tuesday would guarantee the Blue Devils with a first-round bye in the ACC Tournament. The three points would give Duke 15 and even if Notre Dame wins out, the Blue Devils hold the head-to-head tiebreak over the Irish.
- Should Duke tie Tuesday night, the Blue Devils will sit at 13 points and would need a win over the Hokies Friday night to guarantee a top-four ACC finish.
HIGH SCORING BLUE DEVILS
- Duke has scored at least three goals in seven of the 14 games this season and has four twice. The seven games with three-plus tallies are the most since 2006 when they had at least three nine times.
