GAME DETAILS - CANCER AWARENESS AND PARKING
- Duke will be wearing pink jerseys Friday night as a part of its cancer awareness game. The Blue Devils adopted a little boy named Jackson last year and he is the biggest fan and is in regular attendance and comes on to the field after the game to stretch with the team. He's been a huge part of the program these two seasons.
- Friday night's game will be played at the same time as men's basketball Countdown to Craziness event. Therefore, fans will have to pay to park. It is $10 with spots available at the Jogging Trail lot on 751/Cameron Blvd. or Circuit Drive lot. Full parking details will be available on GoDuke.com.

SENIOR NIGHT
- Prior to kickoff Friday, the Blue Devils will recognize five seniors playing in their final ACC Friday night tilt. The trio of Torbjørn Alseth, Ciaran McKenna and Oliver Spring have been outstanding four-year members of the Blue Devils, while Sivert Daehlie and Kevin Feucht have been with the program for a year as graduate student transfers. In the past four years, Duke has compiled a 38-23-8 overall record and advanced to the third round of the NCAA Tournament in 2017. This group has excelled on and off the field, putting in hours in the classroom, community and on the soccer field.
SERIES HISTORY
- Duke and Pittsburgh are meeting for the seventh time overall and for the sixth time as ACC foes. The Blue Devils are 5-0-1 in the series and have given up just two goals in the six games. The last game in Durham ended in a 1-1 draw, the first point in ACC play for the Panthers.
ABOUT THE BLUE DEVILS
- Duke looks to bounce back after a tough 1-0 setback Tuesday night against Big South foe High Point. The No. 14 Blue Devils are 8-4-1 overall and 3-2-0 in ACC play following their top 10 win over Notre Dame last Friday.
- Daniele Proch leads all scorers with 11 goals, while Ian Murphy and defender Matthias Frick have three apiece. Kristófer Garðarsson has been outstanding of late and has a team-best four assists. Issa Rayyan, Top Drawer's No. 7-ranked rookie, owns three assists and regularly gives opposing defenses fits on the flank. Brandon Williamson is the engine to the midfield, while Max Moser is a threat from the right midfield and has two assists. Duke has nine different players with at least one goal.
- Rookie Aedan Stanley has anchored the backline in the center back position. A captain, Ciaran McKenna and sophomore Matthias Frick man the wings on defense, and also provide threats on set pieces offensively. Will Pulisic is the leader from the back in goal. Fresh off of a strong rookie campaign, Pulisic was tabbed one of the top 11 goalkeepers by Top Drawer Soccer. He has three shutouts this season and 10 in his career and earned All-ACC third team recognition as a freshman. Currently he sports a 1.37 goals against average and a .673 save percentage.
- Off the bench, Duke is the deepest it's been in recent memory with a wealth of talent ready to step in. Daniel Wright earned a starting role after excellent play off the bench. Seth Kuhn, a starter in the first five games, can provide a spark off the bench recently as can Garðarsson and Conor Kelly. Nicolas Macri and Colby Agu can step in and provide a punch offensively and spell Proch.
LAST TIME OUT
- High Point buried a penalty kick in the 26th minute and held off a furious second-half charge from 14th-ranked Duke to upend the Blue Devils 1-0 Tuesday night. The loss ended Duke's win streak at four games.
LAST TIME WE MET
- Duke seniors Brian White and Cameron Moseley scored goals and Will Pulisic made a career-high matching four saves to lead Duke to a 2-0 road victory over Pittsburgh last season. The Blue Devils grabbed the early lead with a White goal in the 15th minute. Moseley tacked on a goal with 22 seconds left. Pulisic had two saves in each half.

PROCH'S RAPID SCORING PACE
- Junior forward Daniele Proch is having an outstanding 2018 with 11 goals in 13 games. After netting three goals in the opening weekend to earn College Soccer News Team of the Week honors, the Italy native tallied two more to lead Duke to the 4-1 at San Diego and repeat Team of the Week recognition. He has scored in nine of the 13 games this season and had scored in five straight games before being held scoreless against High Point Tuesday.
- His 11 goals are six more than the five he scored in 20 games last season and are the most since Andrew Wenger had 17 in 2011. Proch needs three more to tie for 11th in Duke single-season history and is four shy of moving into the top 10.
- One of the nation's top scorers, Proch's 0.85 goals per game average is second in the league and 10th nationally, while the 1.85 points per game average is third in the ACC and 15th in Division I soccer. He is one of 23 Division I players to have double digit goals this season.
ABOUT PITTSBURGH
- Pittsburgh arrives in Durham after a 3-2 midweek win over Temple. The Panthers are 7-7 overall and 2-4 in league action. They are 2-4 on the road.
- Offensively, Pittsburgh is averaging 1.64 goals per game and has been shut out in four of the seven losses. Five of the setbacks have come by a single goal. Edward Kizza is the league's top scorer with 12 goals. Javi Perez is behind him at four goals and 11 points.
- On the other side of the ball Pitt is allowing 1.36 goals per game, but only 9.7 shots per game. In goal, Johan Penaranda has started 12 games and has a 1.29 goals against average and a 0.643 save percentage. He is averaging 2.25 saves per game.
FROM FRIENDS TO FOES
- Duke freshmen Seth Kuhn and Issa Rayyan and Pitt rookie Nyk Sessock meet Friday night as opponents after spending the previous few years at YSC Academy. The program is an affiliate of the MLS Club Philadelphia Union and has a residency program for high level players.
- Rayyan has started all 13 games for the Blue Devils and Kuhn has played in 11 games with six starts and has registered two assists. Sessock has started 10 of the 12 games for Pitt on defense and has an assist. Between the three YSC Academy products, they have started 29 of 40 overall games and played in all but four.
EAGLES OF DIFFERENT ERAS MEET FRIDAY
- Friday's game also will pit a pair of American University graduates against each other as Duke's Michael Brady and Pitt's Michael Behonick put their alma maters aside.
- Brady, Duke Associate Head Coach, was a star for American, being named the NCAA Men's Player of the Year by Soccer America in 1985. Behonick played for the Eagles from 2000-03 as a goalkeeper and was drafted in the 2003 MLS SuperDraft.
- Brady returned to his alma mater as the women's coach for eight seasons and overlapped with Behonick as a player. The now Duke coach led the Eagles to the 2002 Patriot League women's title and Behonick guided American to the 2001 league crown.
DEFENDING KOSKINEN
- The Blue Devils feature a busy home schedule again in 2018, playing at Koskinen Stadium 11 times. Duke is 6-2-1 this season and went 10-3-2 in 2017. The Blue Devils are amidst a five-game homestand as they search to get to 8-2-1 in Koskinen.
- Under John Kerr, Duke is 82-28-17 at home for a .713 win percentage. The Blue Devils' best season was 2009, going 12-1-0 at home.
AT HOME IN THE ACC
- Duke is 20-17-9 in ACC regular season and tournament home games since 2008 for a .533 win percentage.
- The current Blue Devils are 7-7-2 against conference foes at Koskinen Stadium.
