SETTING THE SCENE
Duke closes its regular season slate against 13th-ranked Virginia Friday night. Both teams will be aiming to garner the best possible seed in the upcoming ACC Championship, which begins Nov. 1. The game will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra and can be viewed via WatchESPN.com or the ESPN app.

SENIOR NIGHT
Friday night features the final regular season home game of Duke seniors - Kevon Black, Henry Booth, Cody Brinkman, Markus Fjørtoft, Erik Hanson, Carter Manley, Cameron Moseley, Joe Ohaus, Noah Snyder and Brian White.
The group compiled a 37-27-7 record and are amidst a fantastic final season. They have been instrumental in the success in 2017 as outstanding leaders on and off the field. They have excelled in the classroom with countless ACC Academic Honor Roll awards as well as plenty of on-field success.
SERIES HISTORY
Duke and Virginia are meeting for the 88th time since the first game in 1946. The Cavaliers lead the series 41-37-9 and are 5-2-3 in the past 10 outings.
The Blue Devils are 17-13-7 against Virginia in Durham and 1-1-3 at home under head coach John Kerr. Duke last defeated the Cavaliers in 2009 in Charlottesville.
Nine of the past 10 meetings between the two teams have been decided by a single goal or ended in a tie. A team has scored multiple goals in a game just three times since 2007.
DUKE REACHES 11 WINS
With an 11-3-2 overall record, Duke reached the 11-win mark for the first time since 2011 and for the third time under head coach John Kerr.
Kerr's 2009 squad had 14 wins, the most by a Blue Devil team in his tenure.
LAST TIME OUT
Duke used a pair of first-half goals to capture its 11th win of the 2017 season, besting Delaware 2-1. Daniel Wright and Daniele Proch had the goals for the 18th-ranked Blue Devils.
Pulisic came up with his biggest save of the night early in the second half after a bad giveaway by Duke gave Delaware a great opportunity inside the penalty box. Excellent in coming off his line, Pulisic denied the Blue Hens for his one, albeit crucial, save of the half. He finished the night with three stops.

Duke and Virginia share five common conference foes this season. Duke went 3-1-1 in the contests, while the Cavaliers went 2-1-2.

ACC TOURNAMENT SCENARIOS
The Blue Devils are assured a first-round home game in the ACC Tournament as one of the top eight seeds. Duke has the potential to be seeded as high as No. 4 with a victory coupled with a Notre Dame loss or tie and a Clemson loss.
They could finish as low as eighth with a loss and NC State, Clemson and Notre Dame victories.
DUKE STAYS IN POLLS
Duke dropped to 18th in the most recent coaches' poll following the scoreless draw at Notre Dame.
Duke, ranked for the fifth straight week, is ranked for multiple consecutive weeks for the first time since it was in the top 25 for seven straight weeks during the 2010 season.
DUKE AND VIRGINIA CLOSE CALLS
Duke and Virginia have played many memorable games over the past few years. Each of the past eight contests have ended in a tie or in a 1-0 victory for either the Blue Devils or Cavaliers.
Each of Virginia's past four wins have come by 1-0 scores and only twice since 2007 has there been more than one goal scored in the game. Virginia's 4-2 ACC Tournament victory in 2008 is the only time one of the teams has won by multiple goals.
ABOUT THE BLUE DEVILS
Duke heads into the regular season finale with an 11-3-2 record and 3-3-1 mark in league play. . The Blue Devils are looking to continue their trend upward and solidify a solid seeding in the ACC and NCAA Tournaments.
Brian White headlines the offense with nine goals and two assists for 20 points. His nine tallies are a career best and rank 22nd nationally. Daniele Proch is next in line with five goals and 12 points overall in his first year as a Blue Devil and Markus Fjørtoft and Cameron Moseley have contributed three goals. Outside back Carter Manley has a team-high five assists.
Will Pulisic is 11-3-2 in goal with a 1.03 goals against average and a .764 save percentage. He owns 55 saves and six shutouts to rank second in the ACC.
SCOUTING VIRGINIA
Virginia comes to Durham sporting a 10-2-3 overall record and 3-1-3 mark in ACC play. The Cavaliers have a two-point edge on the Blue Devils in the standings. This is Virginia's fourth road game, going 1-0-2 in the other three.
Edward Opoku leads the team with seven goals and 17 points overall, while Pablo Aguilar has 13 points (5g, 3a) and Sergi Nus has six tallies. The Cavaliers are averaging 1.87 goals per game.
Defensively, Virginia is allowing just under one goal per game (0.928) and owns four shutouts. Jeff Caldwell has played every minute in goal and is averaging 2.4 saves per game. He sports a .930 goals against average and a .706 save percentage.
LAST TIME WE MET
Virginia redshirt junior Pablo Aguilar curled a shot past Duke goalkeeper Robert Moewes in the 87th minute to lift the 17th-ranked Cavaliers to the 1-0 victory in 2016.
Virginia managed just two shots on goal in the game, but made the second one count with 3:20 remaining in regulation. Duke had three shots on goal and seven overall in the road setback.
HOME SWEET HOME
The Blue Devils featured a busy home schedule in 2017, playing at Koskinen Stadium 12 times. Duke is 8-2-1 this season. The Blue Devils had just five road games overall and only one non-conference road contest.
Under John Kerr, Duke is 74-25-15 at home for a .715 win percentage. The Blue Devils' best season was 2009, going 12-1-0 at home.

Duke is 17-15-8 in ACC home games since 2008 for a .525 win percentage.

KERR NEARING CENTURY MARK
Head coach John Kerr is nearing his 100th win at Duke. In his 10th season, Kerr needs just three more victories to become only the second Duke coach in program history to reach the century mark.
Kerr's mentor and head coach, John Rennie, won 410 games in his 29 seasons at Duke and still ranks 22nd all-time across all three divisions with 454 wins overall. He is ninth among Division I coaches.
Kerr's current .574 win percentage is fourth among Duke coaches with Rennie leading the way at .706. Roy Skinner (1966-76; 71-45-5) is second at .607, while inaugural head coach K.C. Gerard (1935-48; 41-27-10) finished with a .589 win percentage.
DUKE VS RANKED TEAMS
Duke will play its seventh ranked team Friday against Virginia The Blue Devils dropped tough one-goal losses to then No. 8 North Carolina (2-1) and No. 8 Louisville (1-0), upset No. 11 Syracuse and No. 10 Georgetown on the road before a tough 4-1 setback to Clemson. Most recently, Duke drew Notre Dame 0-0.
Under John Kerr, Duke is 9-14-1 against ranked teams when unranked and 5-13-3 against top 25 teams when also ranked in the top 25.
The Blue Devils own three top 25 wins in a season twice, winning three in 2015 and 2008. Duke is 2-1-0 in 2017 and went 2-6-0 last year.

WILL PULISIC NOTES
Rookie goalkeeper Will Pulisic is second in the ACC with six shutouts and is one of 11 freshmen with at least six clean sheets. He recently was named ACC Defensive Player of the Week after making a penalty kick stop and seven overalls in a shutout of Notre Dame.
He registered the game-winning assist for the Blue Devils against Wisconsin, marking the first time since 2007 a goalie has had an assist.
Pulisic garnered his first career weekly honor after helping the Blue Devils to a pair of shutouts to start the season. Named to the Top Drawer Soccer Team of the Week, Pulisic had five saves in his first two games. He is averaging 5.75 saves per game in his previous four outings.
Pulisic's six shutouts are the most by a Duke goalie since Alex Long had seven in 2013. The individual record for shutouts is 13 by Pat Johnston in 1983 and 1985. James Belshaw had eight in 2012, the most under John Kerr.
