Marina Competes with Albanian National Team

TWARDOGORA, Poland – Incoming freshman Cindy Marina competed with the Albanian National Team in the European League tournament against Poland, Slovakia and Belarus June 3-5 in Twardogora, Poland. Marina, a 5-11 setter from Temecula, Calif., is set to play for Albania again June 17-19 in Durres, Albania.
“We are so happy to have Cindy,” said Albanian coach Roland Tare. “She is a very technical setter and all the days she's been here, she is bringing the team together. We see a great future for the team. Cindy is so quick and has organized the team so well in just two weeks. In the whole history of Albanian Volleyball Cindy is second in talent behind setter Mimoza Ibrahimi from the 1980's, but she is only 17 and we see her growing to the top."
Marina joins the Blue Devils this fall following an outstanding career at Great Oak High School. A 2015 PrepVolleyball.com High School All-American, Marina was named the 2015 Southwestern League Most Valuable Player and was nominated for the Gatorade Player of the Year in California.
