Scouting the Hokies
● Virginia Tech is having one of its strongest seasons in recently memory with an 8-2-1 overall record. The Hokies are 18th in the most recent coaches' poll. Virginia Tech's two ACC losses came against then- No. 1 Notre Dame and No. 7 Clemson.
● Marcelo Acuna is one of the top scorers in the league with eight goals and 16 points overall. He is clutch for the Hokies with a nation's-best five game-winning goals. It's a balanced effort after Acuna with four players having at least five points. Overall, 16 players have scored at least one point this season for the Hokies.
● Defensively, Virginia Tech has only allowed eight goals and owns a 0.70 goals against average. It has allowed multiple goals in just two games. Ben Lundgaard anchors the defense in goal with a 0.74 goals against average and a .810 save percentage. He has six shutouts this season, but is averaging just 3.09 saves per game.
