DURHAM, N.C.—The grueling January schedule continues for the Duke wrestling team this weekend as it travels to the West Coast for a pair of duals against No. 16 Stanford and Cal Poly. The Blue Devils and Cardinal dual is set for Jan. 30 at 4 p.m. (EST), while Cal Poly and Duke will meet the following evening at 10 p.m. (EST).
California Bound
The Blue Devils will travel to California for a pair of duals for the first time in program history. Duke competed at the Reno Tournament in 2008 and in the Cliff Keen Invitational in Las Vegas in 2010, but has never made a trip to the opposite coast. It will amass over 6,000 miles on the trip from Friday evening to Monday afternoon.

Series Histories
Duke and Stanford will be meeting for the second time overall and for the first time. The Cardinal rolled to a 41-0 victory in Durham in 2014. Sunday's match with Cal Poly will be the first between the Blue Devils and Mustangs.
Scouting the Blue Devils
Duke heads into the weekend duals with a 1-4 overall record. The Blue Devils' losses have come against No. 3 NC State, No. 20 Pittsburgh, Appalachian State and Harvard. They have been without someone at 125 pounds in the past four duals and narrowly fell to Pitt (19-23) and Harvard (17-23) despite going down 6-0 right away. Conner Hartmann leads the way at No. 5 at 197 pounds, while
Jake Faust is 17th at 165 and
Mitch Finesilver 19th at 149. Mitch leads the way in the wins department with 16, while his twin brother
Zach Finesilver is 15-8 at 141 pounds. Hartmann is 14-1 on the year with the lone loss coming against current No. 3 Brett Pfarr of Minnesota.

About Stanford
Stanford enters the weekend dual with a 5-2 overall record and ranked 16th in the latest InterMat national rankings. The Cardinal, with losses to Penn State and CSU Bakersfield, are coming off of three consecutive victories following its ninth-place showing at the Southern Scuffle. Stanford's 141-pounder Joey McKenna headlines the team with 17 dual points on the year and a No. 2 national ranking at 141 pounds. He is 12-1 and 4-0 in duals. Paul Fox is tops in the win column with 21 victories, while 12th-ranked Jim Wilson is 15-4 on the year. Nine of its probable 12 starters have double digit victories.

Faust vs. Wilson Take Three
Saturday will feature a third meeting between a pair of ranked wrestlers as Duke's 17th-ranked
Jake Faust takes on No. 12 Jim Wilson for the third time this season. Faust is 2-0 against Miller, upsetting the Stanford redshirt-junior by 6-2 and 6-1 decisions, respectively. The first win at the Hokie Open launched Faust in the top 20, while the second at the Southern Scuffle solidified his spot even more. Faust has handed Miller two of his four losses on the year.
About Cal Poly
Cal Poly coached for the fifth season by Brendan Buckley, defeated San Francisco State 29-8 on Nov. 7 and has lost dual meets against Stanford, Drexel, Old Dominion and CSU Bakersfield. Junior 197-pounder J.T. Goodwin continues to lead all Mustang wrestlers in victories, owning a 13-6 mark with five falls. He placed first in the Roadrunner Open two months ago. Colt Shorts is 9-6 at 157 pounds, placing second in the Roadrunner Open, while Colton Schilling is 8-5 at 141 pounds. Spencer Empey (pictured above) is 6-4 at 285 pounds and is one of three Mustangs who earned decisions in the loss to CSU Bakersfield last week. The others were Shorts and 184-pounder Mitch Woods. Cal Poly is wrestling at home for the first time since a 28-12 loss to Drexel on Nov. 13.
