DURHAM, N.C. – Head men's cross country coach Norm Ogilvie announced the 2015 cross country schedule today. The Blue Devils' 2015 slate includes a home contest against NC Central, as well as three regular-season meets from last year's campaign.
The Blue Devils will compete in Virginia twice during the 2015 season, kickstarting the upcoming campaign by traveling to Blacksburg, Va., for the Hokie Invite, Friday, Sept. 4. Duke is scheduled to return to Virginia later in the season for the NCAA Souteast Regional, occurring in Charlottesville, Va., Friday, Nov. 13.
Following Duke's season-opener in Virginia, the Blue Devils will remain in Durham, once again welcoming NC Central to campus for the third running of the Bull City Classic Saturday, Sept. 12, which takes place in conjunction with the Duke and NC Central football game.
Duke is set to open a full October slate of racing by heading north to Princeton, N.J., for the Princeton Invite on Saturday, Oct. 3. One week later, the Blue Devils remain in state, making the short trip to Charlotte, N.C., for the Royals Challenge Friday, Oct. 9. Last year, Duke placed second at the Royals Challenge, positioning four runners among the top-10 finishers. Duke's penultimate meet in October sees the Blue Devils travel to Louisville, Ky., for NCAA Pre-Nationals Saturday, Oct. 17, before closing out the month with the ACC Championships Friday, Oct. 30 in Tallahassee, Fla.
The month of November begins with Duke competing in its final non-postseason meet of 2015, as the Blue Devils look to defend their title at the Three Stripe Invitational Saturday, Nov. 7 in Cary, N.C. The final two meets of the season include the Southeast Regional meet (Nov. 13) and the NCAA Championships, taking place in Louisville, Ky., Saturday Nov. 21.
The Duke men's cross country team reconvenes Aug. 17 with the start of preseason camp.
