
Duke Ranks Among Nation?s Top Offensive Teams

DURHAM, N.C. – The Duke volleyball team finished the 2015 season ranked among the top offensive team in the country in both kills per set and assists per set.
Duke averaged 14.46 kills per frame to rank third in the ACC and 11th nationally. Duke was one of just 13 NCAA Division I squads to average over 14.40 kills per set. The Blue Devils have averaged over 14.0 kills per set and ranked in the top 12 nationally in that category (11th in 2015, second in 2014, and ninth in 2013) in each of the past three seasons.
Four Blue Devils knocked down 2.00 or more kills per set for the season: outside hitter Emily Sklar (3.84), middle blocker Jordan Tucker (2.96), middle blocker Leah Meyer (2.69) and rightside hitter Alyse Whitaker (2.17). In addition, Sklar's 3.84 kills per set average ranked third in the conference.
Redshirt senior setter Maggie Deichmeister orchestrated Duke's 5-1 offense, dishing out 10.78 assists per frame to rank third in the league. Overall, Duke averaged 13.55 assists per frame, good for 13th nationally and third in the ACC.
