DURHAM, N.C. - As Duke prepares for the postseason, Blue Devil Network and GoDuke.com will count down the top plays from the first 12 games of the 2015 season. The site will feature one highlight per day with the top play revealed on Saturday, December 26 when the Blue Devils (7-5) participate in the program's fourth consecutive bowl game, meeting Indiana (6-6) in the New Era Pinstripe Bowl at 3:30 p.m. on ABC.
The most dramatic victory of the year provided Duke the top play of the 2015 campaign with
Erich Schneider's 25-yard touchdown and
Thomas Sirk's two-point conversion at Virginia Tech to give Duke a 45-43 victory in four overtimes. The contest was the longest in ACC history as no other game had lasted more than three overtime periods. On the first play in the fourth OT, Sirk dropped back and hit Schneider, who streaked into the end zone from the left side. Sirk then ran in the two-point conversion as the Blue Devils won consecutive games in Blacksburg.
Schneider ended the regular season with 14 catches for 106 yards and three touchdowns while Sirk was 234-for-360 with 15 touchdowns. He added a team-high 648 rushing yards on 143 carries and a squad-best six rushing scores.
